And to answer Firstdown's question re: how I feel about what Reid said, I'm against it. But the key difference is that Reid is giving pre-election rhetoric, whereas the GOP followed through on their obstructionist agenda. If Romney wins, and the Dems followed suit and obtusely blocked meaningful, reasonable legislation... I'll be very disappointed.
Ive felt that Obama and the dems created the partisanship by forcing the healthcare bill through. So while republicans have been using obstructionist tactics, that what they were elected to congress to do. Theyre merely representing their constituents. That said, more people obviously voted feeling the way you do, than feeling they way I do. I was really hoping for an Obama loss coupled with a Tim Kaine win, as that would have singled a comprise mentality to me. Instead things feel decidedly split.

Obama represents different things to different people. Regardless of reality, many (or most) view Obama as the face of an ideology thats championed by some and anguished by others. Hes hated as much as hes loved, which unfortunately leaves little room for compromise. He is going to be in a major uphill battle to change those perceptions and get government to work together.

In large part thats why i didnt want Obama to win. Congress didnt lose control, and no one thought they would, so to me Obama winning means 4 more years similar to the last 2. And unless we see some big turnarounds in the national debt, unemployment, and the economy i suspect we could see partisanship after the 2014 elections that make the last 2 years look like a honeymoon between two 18 year olds that just eloped. He has his work cut out for him, hopefully the 4 years of experience has will serve him well this go around.

I heard someone joke about that the other day on the radio. Apperently Canada is really hard to immigrate too. You have to take a physical to prove youre not unhealthy (maybe we should consider now?) and you also have to prove your economic worth. So a healthy guy with a business can move there but a fat kid who moved back in with his partents after graduating college because he cant find a job is even more out of luck.

Although I don't really have a feeling one way or another about the casino referendum, it feels great having voted in Maryland for Question 4 and Question 6.

So proud.
Only good news for me in VA is the passage of the eminent domain admendment (although i dont think it went nearly far enough). Also my swing vote helped propell my girl Kristen Larson to my school board:

4th District
Kristen N. Larson, a former board member of the state's first charter elementary school, emerged from the five-way race to fill the seat vacated by Adria Graham-Scott.
Larson was the top vote-getter from a field that included a former Richmond Public Schools superintendent and a communications specialist with extensive volunteer experience in city schools.
"I feel like the parents and the community in the 4th District has really gotten behind me," Larson said. "I appreciate all the support, and I'm looking forward to working with the rest of the newly elected School Board candidates to implement real change for the children of our city."

LOL. Indeed. I don't know why, but the whole "illegal" thing has been what's kept my wife and I from ever trying it. Might have to go on a vacation, partake, then go to Casa Bonita!

and washington state. Interested to see if the Supreme Court will take up some cases so we can look at some things on a federal level. Then politically it will bring up a stronger look at the failed drug war.

The thing is medical marijuana is EXPENSIVE.

Yeah, that and Europe. It shows you how stupid the American voters really are, which is exactly why I said what I said in the other thread. So you are going to leave this country to avoid "socialism", but head off to another country who has a higher degree of socialism than we do and pay more taxes.

It boils down to it, they just don't like the black guy.

The Cartman literally made me LOL. I might do it, but goddamn, I thought after the election this would be the end of it.

And you're right, particularly where I live it was the black guy versus the Mormon, and I'm sure it even chapped some conservative people's asses to vote for the Mormon because you can't cry religion really there either.

Karl Rove was easily the most comical part of election night for me. Right before the election he's explaining how the GOP can win Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ohio. Then one by one the states start getting called and Rove becomes desperate. Shortly after Ohio gets called and he's like "No no, wait these are Republican counties! Republicans will get like 80% of the remaining vote."

Sorry Karl the polls were right. The oversampling theory does not hold water.

I don't like NDAA, the Benghazi lies, his "I don't have all the information....but the police acted stupidly" (Oh, you'd forgotten that?) pandering to a religious group by insisting that NASA have an outreach for them and a litany of other things.

But I'm racist because I don't like his politics or his process?

Yea man, you imply that someone is racist and its such a demonized word all you have to do is toss it out there as a generalization and you win all arguments.
So then anyone that says something on Facebook that you disagree with is a racist too.
Works like a charm!
