Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
You guys are getting the wrong idea about me and my opinion that Dan Snyder / Bruce Allen are deciding who starts at QB.
What i am trying to say is that there is alot invested in RG3. While it might be bad for our record, they have to give him every chance to succeed here before someone makes the call that he is a bust, or not the "guy" here in DC. I'm just saying that Gruden will likely have to see alot more out of RG3 before he can be very confident saying to ownership that RG3 is not the guy and that someone else is better suited. It is still kind of early for that. I think he finishes out this year, and if his play is just mediocre as it has been, then they look at the QB position in the off-season...

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Atleast watching this 7 week RG-3 audition gives me a reason to watch. N make no bones about it thats what this is. The absolute worse thing in the world would be if he gets hurt. Id rather know if he is or isnt our guy as im sure everyone would.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
If RG3 can throw to spots and not hesitate the offense will get on track. If the line can do their job and trust each other, they will get on track. If Barry Cofield can get back to form on the d-line the pass rush will become more effective. The Corners have to bump more and Kennan Robinson needs to cover the TE more. Morris need to take advantage of the lanes RG3 presence creates. RG3 needs to throw to the open man not the primary target. Look long to short in his progressions. We can start winning some games.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Is it possible that Gruden, Bruce, and Danny are on the same page?
I just don't see how Gruden could expect to come into this (or any) head coach position and be able to scrap the expected franchise QB in the first year. I mean we've heard reports that, he wanted to start Cousins at the beginning of the season, and he wanted to start McCoy last week, but maybe he simply was saying that his opinion is that they provided the best chance of winning right now, and that RG3 had a long way to develop. Does that mean he thought that is what they should be doing? Does it mean that he is in disagreement with the FO? I sure hope not, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but . . . If he is, then I think I would have to side with Danny and Bruce on this one. I'm for the long term success of the team, and clearly RG3 is right now the best shot we have at a franchise QB. He has to play to develop. |

Several posters on this board have alluded to the fact that DS wanted Griff to play. Several posters on this board have alluded to the fact that this sort of thing happens all over the league. Not sure why you would classify the owner and HC not being on the same page as the stuff of conspiracies? Seems pretty normal to me. |

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Lets talk about what happens when Griffin succeed and utilizes the both his legs and arm to create wins for the Redskins. Who will be the first to eat crow?

I have certainly said that I do not think Griff will be the future star that we all thought we had in 2012. I will gladly eat every last feather if he proves me wrong. |

I honestly don't think they'd choose Griffin if he was clearly not improving after next year, but, for there to be any argument right now as to whether or not to let Robert play and try to develop is crazy. Also, they don't necessarily need to let either go. If Griffin isn't performing by the end of the year, I think Gruden would be justified in bringing in some competition, and all signs point to this being the plan. If there is tension / disagreement going on right now though, I think I'd put the blame on Gruden (unless there is something Griffin is doing that we don't know about that has caused Gruden to be soured on him). I mean, has he really given Griffin a legitimate chance to prove himself yet? No, so if he is undermining everyone because he wants a different QB, then he might have to go. I tend to believe that he is just being straight forward and realistic about the development of his QB's. He thought Cousins was farther along, and he thinks Griffin has a lot to learn, and he will see how things play out. I haven't heard anything that makes me believe that Danny or Bruce have any issue with the way he's handling the situation except that maybe they told him that he has to play Griffin right now, which leads me to believe that it is more likely that they are on the same page then it is that they are at odds. |

Not saying the front office would think this way, but if I'm in the front office, I have to think of the investment in Griffin already being paid and used. The best time to get rid of Griffin would be before his rookie contract is up. By that point, Griffin is either the franchise quarterback this team has needed, or he's not. I don't think you can blame Gruden either way. Gruden didn't ask for Griffin nor Cousins. I think you allow Gruden the opportunity to go out and find "his guy" in terms of quarterback and see who's best for the position.

Re: Expectations for the rest of the season...
Whats the point of starting Cousins or McCoy the rest of the year?
