Re: Skins v Bengals week 3 preseason thread
Kirk is making the skins look smart, that Pick 6 was awful.. Some of his throws are just horrible at times. He's a good QB but not a top 10 guy.

Re: Skins v Bengals week 3 preseason thread
Good post Joe, I agree in that he doesn't seem like the supreme motivator that Gibbs was. I mainly wrote this post to give you the heads up that this is year 4. It seems like we know what we're getting by now.

Re: Skins v Bengals week 3 preseason thread
Kirk is somewhere between 8 - 14. If he falls below 15, we kept the wrong coach. This is work in progress, we will no what we have in October.

Re: Skins v Bengals week 3 preseason thread
I heard camp was lax here in Richmond and Jay gets along and has fun with a lot of his players. That's great.
Id like to see him get in some faces and motivate a little more.

Admittedly off topic for the thread, but I love what the article says about Mara: deadspin-quote-carrot-aligned-w-bgr-2<\/title><\/svg>')}.f_branding_on.blog-group-deadspin .editor-inner.post-content .pu

I also think back to those slow starts. The thing is, at some point, those slow starts turned into win streaks and playoff hopes toward the end of those seasons, and I would think a coach lacking in inspiration and leadership would not have been able to survive a slow start in an NFL season.

Re: Skins v Bengals week 3 preseason thread
Phil Taylor apparently is out for the year. That is just terrible.

Re: Skins v Bengals week 3 preseason thread
We needed more help on D than O, and to lose Murphy and Taylor for the year is really not good. We have decent depth at TE and CB, but I don't see the front office making a move for a NT, and I doubt there's anyone available now (or will become available) who they will like better than Hood, Mbu or Ionnadis (I am sure I butchered the spelling of that).

Something tells me I'm glad I missed this game.

Re: Skins v Bengals week 3 preseason thread
Too bad for Phil Taylor. It didn't even look like a vicious play.
Hope he makes a fast recovery |
