Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
No, not the FA list I saw. Think because of new GM and/or HC there is some chatter about him possibly being available in a trade. Think he has a year or 2 left on his contract.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I have no idea what the Skins should do here ... but ... I'd rather use the room in our salary cap over the next couple of years keeping our D-Line as in tact as we can, as those rookie contracts expire.
Which means finding your QB in the draft. Having them learn from Alex Smith? That's pretty ideal too. I like the ND State kid for upside. Athletic enough to pass and run. No INT's in a season? That's hard to do at any level. Will he be around though? Probably not. I like Mac Jones from Bama. Beyond these two, nothing really excites me of the upper tier college QBs. Could we find a Russell Wilson later on? Maybe ... but it's hard to count on that. I think we have found our main TE in Logan Thomas. I wouldn't spend early draft picks on that position, focusing instead on LB, CB, QB, OLine, and WR. |

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Of course it all revolves around ALEX. Earlier in the year I was good with him coming back next year as the starter, because the team seemed to turn the corner when he took the reins. However, as the season progressed, even though he gave this team the best chance to win, he regressed. I am now of the opinion that you can't count on him to be the starter next year (although I'm no doctor and maybe he'll be just fine), and for me, if you can't count on him to be the starter because of health, that means I don't want him as the backup either.

I'd switch Davis with Golladay, otherwise I agree with this.

Godwin, golladay are mostly slot guys, I’m not paying big money to them. Fuller injury history and now steroid suspension makes him absolutely untouchable. Corey Davis is meh to me, I wouldn’t give him big money. Samual is a guy who we saw just last week playing all over the field and making big plays. He can play inside and out, plus he is fast. He will be much more affordable than the guys above him Marvin Jones wouldn’t be a bad singing either. He will be affordable. You probably could sign Samuel and Jones for what you pay Robinson

Tier 1 1. Allen Robinson - 1,213 yds / 6 TDs 2. Corey Davis - 945 yds/ 5 TDs (with AJ Brown on the other side) 3. Chris Godwin - 707 yds / 5 TDs Tier 2 4. Kenny Golladay - 338 yds / 2 TDs (injured) 5. Curtis Samuel - 733 yards / 3 TDs I would definitely go after one of these dudes. Kelvin Harmon is still in the mix, AAG, Cam Sims...draft a WR + McLaurin - could be a strong WR group next year if you do. |

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Allen Robinson impressed me this season. He wound up on my fantasy team, and no matter what the nagging injury was, this dude showed up and played ... and played well. And that's with up-and-down QB play in Chitown too.
Having him opposite Terry would be very nice. But ... I bet Samuel gets a long look. I assume he has history with Rivera and Turner. His versatility would add to the offensive dimensions that Gibson, McKissic, and Logan Thomas have all shown this year. |

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
I would be thrilled if we got Samuel, assuming the price is right. He's young, solid and dependable. Def a fan of that idea more than going after a guy like Allen Robinson. No high priced free agents. We got plenty of our own guys that deserve long term deals.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Well it comes down to this for me, do you think he is as good as Tannehill. Same age as him. That's my bar for signing a FA QB and in my opinion if Stafford was starting here for 16 games we would be 11-4 right now. His injury history is the only thing that would worry me, and you can draft a QB in the middle rounds while he is on that 2 year deal

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Well with this QB carousel we had this year, the team is only 10 points away from being a 10 win team. I don't think you need to add a massive contract and give away players / picks to get someone that will be a significant upgrade.
