I think the feeling was mutual. I am glad we didn't sink that kind of coin into him, plus remember in FL he gets a tax break too so that contract is even more lucrative.

With Scherff, seemed like both sides were ok with moving on. Weird to see that some people out there especially in Twitter land are surprised/upset over this. Writing was on the wall for a while.

According to the Pew Research, approximately 23% in America use Twitter. So in other words, the Twitter is magnifying minority opinions which makes it seem big deal.

If he was as good as Nelson , I'd be mad but he's not and he always banged up

Re: Free Agency Around the NFL Style

Scherff was basically offered similar money last year, in the $15-$16M per year range, so yeah, he wanted out. Can't blame him at all. Smart to milk the tag another year and take the payday this year.

@TomPelissero
The #Steelers have placed the original-round RFA tender on QB Dwayne Haskins. It's worth $2.54 million.

Pittsburgh's QB depth chart at the moment:

Mitch Trubisky
Mason Rudolph
Dwayne Haskins

Re: Free Agency Around the NFL Style

If Pittsburgh wants to move up to #11, I would happily take their #20, their 2023 first round, and a 3rd rounder.

Agreed. He always missed at least a few games a year. We'll definitely need to find a replacement now.

For sure. It will be interesting to see how high the qbs go with how many there are and the lack of truly elite qbs although some good ones. I think they will be able to get a very nice haul by trading down that 11. Love the idea unless there's a guy that they must have.

Safe to say we can pencil in Wes Schweitzer right now, he's been pretty solid

78.7 PFF grade last year

Re: Free Agency Around the NFL Style

Browns are very active, with Cooper add, pursuing Watson and going big on pass-rush options in free agency. - Jeremy Fowler

Looks like the Baker era is over

Which is so odd. He seemed to have most of the tools, go through progressions, can scramble to buy time with eyes down field, accurate

Rookie year -- 63.8 comp pct, 3725 yds, 27 tds - 14 ints, 93.7 rating

2022 -- 60.5, 3010, 17-13, 83.1

I think he def could become a Tannenhill situation, on the right team right scheme, he could QB an above .500 team.

I would like Mayfield on our squad. I think hed fit well, seems like a better version of Heinike.
