Crazy to think that 2 of the top 4 here could be with 1 team's defense in Ohio St. Really hope we get a difference maker on defense with that 1st pick. Defense needs a lot of work and this 1st round pick would be a good start.

If you want to see what an elite running back prospect looks like on the field, check out Love's workout. At 6-foot and 213 pounds, he had a 4.36-second time in the 40-yard dash. For comparison's sake, that's the same time as Jahmyr Gibbs but on a frame that's 13 pounds heavier. Love continued his strong day by showing balance and agility in position drills, including good quickness as he accelerated after bag drills. During the pass-catching portion of workouts, he looked like a bulked-up wide receiver running routes. Everything Love does is smooth, which is why he's the No. 1 overall player on my board. -- Miller

ND fan here. Love is amazing. Has insane acceleration. Maybe the best I've seen for a back to hit full speed. Almost makes defenses looks silly. He's also got power and goes between the tackles also with physicality. Oh he's got great hands and can catch also. Check out the 2023 and 2024 ND-USC games. Dude went off.

I don't want Love. Great player but we simply can not draft a RB with our pick. Our backs while not great are good enough to win with. What isn't good enough is our defense.

Go draft Bain Jr. He is everything we need and want in a player.

Give me Bain Jr. or Downs with our pick. Honestly would prefer Downs if he's there. #1 player on NFL Draft Buzz. Kid is the complete package. Would instantly and significantly upgrade our porous pass defense. Cannot go wrong with either of these 2.

I wouldn't be mad at Downs but my issue is he plays a position that is easier to fill. A complete DE that can play the run and rush is harder to find. We need to get someone that can pressure the QB badly. But if they think Downs is the BPA then take him.

I would be very happy with Bain Jr. if that is the guy. Guy is a beast and someone to build the entire defense around. Downs is bigtime though. Highly intelligent player and a ballhawk. You cannot lose with either Downs or Bain Jr. Also agree with you do not want Love with rd 1 pick. Guy is great but should not be the pick for us.

Drafting Love depends on the OC philosophy.. With KK it would be a bad pick because he ran the shotgun and passed more .. I hope whoever it is they play up to the level we need .. we have not had much luck drafting D players

Our defense needs upgraded so badly that I do not want to use a top 10 pick on a rb. My primary issue with Love if he'll be able to handle the physical nature of the NFL long term. Do not see him as a 25 carries/game back. He's lethal with the ball in his hands, but I view him more as a offensive weapon (he can catch and run) than an every down back.
