Re: Arrington

We should all do what Joe Gibbs wants and stop the wild speculation. We will never know why they aren't playing him. That's not Gibbs's style. He keeps any internal dissent behind closed doors, because airing dirty laundry in public would "embarrass the Redskins," which he strictly forbids. For all we know, Arrington could have yelled at Greg Williams to go and *&^% his own *&^%( one day, and now Williams is still peeved. It could be anything. Who knows?

That's why the Redskins and Arrington are both taking the high road in all this, and not saying anything bad.

If Arrington will be traded?

What position do you think we we fill in:

1. another Stout DT
2. Pass rushing end
3. Big offensive line
4. another speedy wide receiver
5. another TE
6. A high draft pick

A big Target at Wideout....peep this if you think Santana is Dangerous now, what if someone had to plan...to stop him, but worry about a Receiver like Jimmy Smith...old I know but still Dangerous...and with Patten as the 3rd WR....man....I promise we win 11 games easy

I'd want them to get a pass rush de, a tall sure handed and reliable wr, or a stud SS to put next to Taylor. but all in all I'd rather keep Arrington if he's fully healthy.

That was his way of saying I'd be sitting for the next couple years until they cut me."

Arrington has an ugly dispute with the team over some money missing from his contract, he then goes and speak to the media during the offseason bad mouthing the team because of how they were treating his injury. Don't you think Snyder would be a tad bit pissed?

Ok ur probally saying, "Arrington and the team settled" "it's all good, right?" Wrong!! What is the best way Snyder can keep Arrington from getting his money? Keep him off the field! I know u all heard of the 70% snaps clause. The one that killed Winslows contract, yeah that one where u must be on the field 70% of the time to get a certaint amount of money. Well if it's in Lavar contract it doesn't look like he'll get it. Snyder will make his life hell as a Redskin. Maybe what Coles said was true, cause it seems to me that he is carrying it out on Lavar.
I don't believe Snyder has that kind of say over Gibbs, we are not cutting him, possibly a trade is on the horizon, I say get rid of that contract, I said it before and I will say it again, Williams can easily replace lavars production, with minumum wage, or very reasonable type contract LB's, all Williams needs is an athletic guy and he will teach him the rest, his schemes will bring out the best in that player, and that's the problemn with Lavar, I believe he can't do it any other way than what he knows, and that's to use his athletism to chase people all over the field regardless of the problems he will create for the rest of the defense, and Williams won't stand for it. They are treating Lavar as a football player, and not a personality who should be played because all the media hype say's he should because he's a charasmatic personality, and he doesn't like it.

There may be truth in your forked tongue Kimosabe. I believe this is true. At the moment, Lavars continuing crime is his habit of airing dirty laundry in the media. CARDINAL SIN! For those of you Snyder conspiracy theorists, does it make sense to bench Lavar if he could help the team? Does it make sense to bench someone alleged to be so good as to help us to the Superbowl? (I think he is damn good as well) Does it make sense to save a few million ( in performance bonus) Snyder would forgoe the chance to win the bowl and reap many millions in additional revenue. Does any of that really make sense considering how much Snyder has been wiling to spend at every turn trying to win? NO! Williams has a problem with Lavar...... Probably, He can learn to change or learn to leave.

Re: All Arrington All The Time (Mega Merge Club Mix)

I'm really torn here.

On one hand you have LaVar's monster contract. If we could get out from under that, it will really help clear up our long term cap situation. Is he really worth his contract? I guess the argument could easily be made that he's not, since we've seen the defense play so well without him.

On the other hand, LaVar is one of my favorite players and it would really stink to see him go elsewhere.

Keeping emotions out of it, I'm in favor of getting rid of his contract, even if it means one of my favorite players playing for someone else next year.

On a related note, if LaVar goes, I'm officially DONE with buying authentic jerseys of current players. I thought LaVar was the safest bet, and a year later my jersey is in danger of being yet another ex-player jersey. Honestly, if it wasn't for that jersey I might not really mind as much if he's outta here!

Re: All Arrington All The Time (Mega Merge Club Mix)

Funny you mention jerseys. Last night I was taking the Metro home from work and this kid is walking through the aisle selling a brand new, (probably stolen, I might add) Santana Moss authentic NFL jersey for 30 bucks. So the kid runs into this dude wearing a Redskins hat, and the guy goes "Moss"??, he won't even be with the Skins next year"! The kid responds, "Are you crazy, Santana aint goin' nowhere"! The guy then responds, "Yeah that's what they said about Coles (and I have one of his jerseys), but look what happened to him". The kid goes, "Dude, Coles just didn't wanna be here." After a brief pause, the kid continued to snake through the crowded train holding up Moss' jersey....."Moss jersey for 30 bucks".

Our culture is all about what's the next hot thing, while at the same time making guarantees that it's a long-term, sure deal. Professional sports has done a masterful job at marketing the fact that athletes are "locked into long-term deals" and then turning around and capitalizing on their popularity. It's so unfair to the fans. I think these companies should offer some type of rebate or possible discount toward a more recent jersey when this happens. I know they won't though. Look at how Sean Taylor changed his number a couple of times during the off season, basically leaving many fans with a pretty worthless #36 jersey.

Matty, your jersey comments sort of evoked those images that's all. Didn't mean to get on a soap box or anything.

I wonder who's jersey the kid will be holding up in December.....hopefully it won't be Jason Campbell

Re: All Arrington All The Time (Mega Merge Club Mix)

something is definitly going on behind closed doors.the one thing that football coaches are always looking for is playmakers, and regardless of how much anyone thinks #56 freelances, there is no doubt he makes things happen when he is on the field.and besides that, how much does arrington really have to know about coach williams defense if they would just use him on the blitz packages(which is probably roughly about 35-40% of the time)

No doubt, I think it's probably safe to assume they are prepping him for a monster deal. I read in the WP that most execs think we can only cop a 3rd or 4th rounder for LaVar. I find that crazy.

If we can't get either an immediate starter or a 1st rounder it aint worth it. Unless they can work out one of those exotic deals where the other team basically eats up all of his contract and we assume no or very little cap hit next year.
