Agreed. Young's a good person. Besides can't hurt to let Shanahan coach another guy named Young.

Maybe for us, it isn't, but I think he can still turn it around somehwere. At least he put in the effort to fix himself up, unlike a guy named JaMarcus.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
Some thoughts from being at the draft tonight:
-Overall the fans are much more subdued than you'd expect -If you hang out in the lobby, you have no idea what's going on. You don't hear anything that's happening inside -Signal was horrible. My texts to Matty were arriving sometimes 20-30 minutes after I'd send them. So, so much for being the "embedded warpath reporter" on the ground -To see players' moms and grandmothers (and other families) get excited was really cool -I totally called Ponder to the Vikings in one of my mocks -After the Niners passed on Quinn, the plan to move down was to get Quinn at 16, we didn't expect him to go to the Rams. We also didn't think Ponder would go to the Vikings -Kerrigan is a solid pick, but man if he effs up he'll have to deal with chants of "Nannnncy...Nannnnncyyyy" -No, I'm not Scott Van Pelt -I never predicted Vince Young to the Redskins, I merely reported that we're seriously considering him...I predicted Alex Smith (which may be just as foolish) -Names I heard most frequently mentioned for tomorrow (in no particular order): Stephen Paea, Stephen Wisniewski, Leonard Hankerson, Ricky Stanzi...which means we're taking Andy Dalton and Rodney Hudson

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
Wow, only took me 1.5 hours to read this thread from beginning to end lol... Glad we traded down, am happy with Kerrigan and would love to see us add someone like Hudson, Hankerson or Jurrell Casey at some point. I think Casey would be a good fit at end.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
IONO mannn, I'm not trying to draft another player with a bad knee. Im still pissed we drafted Malcolm Kelly as high as we did knowing his knee was that bad. Bowers is a beast, but there's a reason teams have not selected him. MAYBE I'd draft him LATE if he's still available. Also, I hope REALLY hope we can land a higher tier center and guard. |

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
Um, I'd guess if we stay at 41 it's pretty high. But who knows for sure
Date night with the wife tomorrow so after around 6:30ish I won't be paying much attention to the draft. I'll get alerts from people on the scene and may watch a little bit on my phone, but for the most part I'll be out of commission tomorrow night

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
Well I got to say that Kerrigans a good pick in the Clay Matthews mould. I think it'll be interesting to see how he does in the 3-4. We clearly didn't want Quinn or Gabbert, and this guy is a good safe prospect. I like this pick, now we just need OL WR and DL and our draft's looking good.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
Apparently Mike wasn't as high on Blaine as any of us thought. And we did want Quinn, took a gamble and it didn't pan out as expected.
The time between picks really stands out when you're there. Goodell looked bored out of his mind
