Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
i am sad. it feels like the same story again lots of off season moves same in season result. i know it is early but this is a tough lost to swallow on top of the Houston one.
I have never seen a defense give up so many 3rd in longs in my life it is deflating. IF you can't stop a rookie in this third game and the rookie has no weapons, it is one sad day for your defense.

Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
We have many areas that need improvement. The D can't seem to get off the field to save there life.
The running game and the WR core is just down right awful. With that said it's a marathon not a sprint. Moving on to next week with a hopefully improved REDSKIN team in philly.

Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
Horrible horrible horrible, absolutely down right horrible.
Haslett didn't adjust anything! I swear to god that 75% of Bradford's completions were short slants after a quick three step drop. What does this mean? You adjust your defense to act quickly, whether it be playing more zone/man or just not blitzing your linebackers with confidence. We all saw that when our corners were too fast for these slants, we forced Bradford to throw it deeper which resulted in the majority of his incompletions. Why does Haslett all of a sudden act like blitzing a middle linebacker instead of putting him into coverage is some hidden tactic that only he knows? As for Kyle Shanahan, I was much less worried. Our offense couldn't complete the 3rd downs, but that comes with having confidence in your defense. Portis is done and falls down after a big gain because he's so used to getting tackled. Heyer is useless and should be a RT in the UFL, Jammal Brown is overrated and in his defense could still be recovering, but I noticed that over time he started to assume that McNabb would step up each play, which is the wrong thing to do. Orakpo needs Haynesworth, Kemo is about as useless as Roydell Williams and Kareem Moore isn't a strong safety (As in he shouldn't play like one). Landry still played very very well, but it's a shame he can't cover a quick slant. I'm sorry for this cluster**** of a post, but this defense is just so bad! I have faith in everyone of these players, but not until Haslett gets the boot. These first three games were critical in establishing our new identity and we just put a knife into our season. 4-12 is a realistic thing at this point, but on the bright side we might be able to draft a guy like Mark Ingram who at least could make up for our horrible depth. |

Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
Trent coming back next week should help, Moss seems to be the only receiver out there. I would promote Austin get rid of Roydell Williams, put Devin Thomas out there and concentrate on running the ball. On defense, Haslett has to find a way to stop the run and adjust on those short passes.

Why do you think Austin would help so much? I know Armstrong was out today, but he hasn't been so impressive when he was in. If Austin was the real deal he would be on the squad. Austin was a BS pick they made, as he was one of the best available, which wasn't saying much. |

Haslett needs to stop the non stop blitzing and learn to play zone.

What kills me is that Shanahan didn't even give Devin Thomas a single ****ing snap on offense.

Sherm effing Lewis dropped off a dozen denture friendly meals and then found a way to get DT 100+ and two touches against the Super Bowl champs yet he is a punchline... Shanahan is dogsh!t in my eyes at this point. I haven't seen anything to make me think he is any better than Gibbs 2.0. (I am going to pretend Zorn was never here) |
