We can rant or defend all we want but the fact remains that he struggled. Its not like this is the Tampa defense of old. take the win and enjoy it for what it is, but im not feeling real comfortable for the rest of the season as long as we keep sliding by these horrid teams and their bottom of the league defenses. And this is another game where we made a first yr QB look good so the defense isnt exactly playing as expected either.
You think he (Johnson) looked good? I think his legs bailed him out a lot.

BTW, I'm not going to deny that Campbell sucked today, but he got his act together when it counted. I too worry for future games....especially his protection in the pass.

We won. Ugly for sure but we won. It may be that every win must be savored this year. So, yay, we won!

We are bringing out bubbly? Where is at? I want some..lol

Ummm. No my point is. Some people will never be happy and always have something to complain about. Not that it is all unicorns rainbows and cotton candy. Some people know our team should be better but are happy that we won. That's doesn't mean that we dont see the ills our team has. But a win is a win. Try it sometimes. Relish it a little bit. Because it feels better than a loss. No one is saying SuperBowl. You are proving my point because you are getting irrate after a win. Besides that I was talking about "haters" - those who love to hate. Does this apply? Misery loves company..

Despite pursuing other quarterbacks in the off season, the Redskins were unable to come to terms with Cutler or Sanchez, and thus opted to start Campbell for the last year of his current contract. Jason Campbell is widely considered to be the worst quarterback in the NFL today, he confirms this on a weekly basis.
Interesting, I typed tmandoug1 into wikipedia and I got:

Yeah, seeing the Cowgirls shit the bed after yet another bad Romo performance was great. The other 4 o'clock games were over when it happened too, so the whole nation watched them fail. Lovely.

Well, I for one don't feel much better at all about our team moving forward. Tampa and St. Louis are without a doubt the two worst teams in football, and we needed come from behind victories AT HOME to squeak it out vs both of them. Beating them by a combined 5 points in our house sure doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies.

I'm stoked that we won, but we're not very good at all. My only hope is that the players were pressing and playing tight in the first half, and they finally loosened up and tried to have some fun out there in the second half. But so it goes week in and week out for the Skins. Close games and what ifs.

I'm kinda failing to see where at all in my previous post I made a total assumption about you. I mean I was asking a legit question there. I told you what my side of the argument was, aren't you gonna present yours? Is it worth the effort? I don't know. All I know is that I'm laying my cards on the table and all you are is making posts talking about me making total assumptions about you. I'm not assuming anything about you, other than maybe you aren't pleased with our offensive effort or production today. That assumption was based off your previous posts though. Inform me if I'm wrong so I can correct these misperceptions.

I don't think we're good on offense. I've seen enough from this group and we just don't have the players. But I think we're solid on defense.

Re: Week 4: Redskins vs. Buccaneers Gameday Thread

I know someone else said it, but I think it is our best hope for our offense. It looks like Zorn in the 2nd half "took the handcuffs off". I am content with Campbell's INTs going up, if it means he gets the chance to hit Moss in stride in games. By the way, that was a heck of a long ball to Moss, he hit him in stride, on the sideline, 2 things that Campbell has struggled with. And Campbell responded with a perfect rating in the 3rd quarter. If we could somehow find that type "rhythm" in the first quarter, maybe we could play with a lead for a change and that might give both the offense and defense a chance to really put a complete game together. That's certainly my hope.

I think the team (including JC) as a whole need to stop making bonehead moves at the beginning of the game. Even if the team had gone 3 and out in the first drive (sans fumble lost) I believe things would have gone different in this game.

Well, I suggested that things would get worse before they get better on offense. But our defense only gave up one TD and two FGs, and the TD was short field.

Things will come together on offense in time, but the defense needs to carry the day and we'll probably have to win ugly for awhile. It's not going to be a 35-7 win next week. 20-17 might be the best we can hope for.

If I'm right, this will be a good team in December. Possibly a very good team. But being an unfinished product is not an excuse for complete unit breakdowns. The offense needs to be sharper than it was today, even if it can't put it altogether just yet.
