Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
How is that weak? That is pretty much the truth. If most of those kids didn't have atheltic ability to get into a major Div IA football program, two thirds at the very least would be on the streets and/or in jail. Look at Urban Meyer and Univ of Fla. 30 frigging arrests in what? 2 years? Pitt kicked that freshman DB off the squad the day before their ass kicking at the hand of Miami for beating on his pregnant gf and two female passerbys that tried to stop it. |

Sherm effing Lewis dropped off a dozen denture friendly meals and then found a way to get DT 100+ and two touches against the Super Bowl champs yet he is a punchline... Shanahan is dogsh!t in my eyes at this point. I haven't seen anything to make me think he is any better than Gibbs 2.0. (I am going to pretend Zorn was never here) |

Add nose tackle.

For the record I was a 3.0 student with an 1,100 SAT score. Bama and Auburn (I applied and got accepted myself) have a reputation for accepting all the party kids that wanted to go to UGA but couldn't get in. Looking back I think the only SEC schools I couldn't have gotten into were UGA, Vandy, and UF. ACC......maybe Clemson would have accepted me? Still though, I can't understand how Basketball, which has the worst reputation these days for producing holligans, usually sees schools with tough admission standards in the top 25 while in football being in the top 25 frequently serves as an indicator that maybe it's not that hard to get into your school.

Off topic but is anyone watching Brandon Marshall sodomize the Jets?

Well we're 1-2 and Oakland isn't exactly known for making wise decisions. JaMarcus Russell?

Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
Apparently a NT isn't important in a 3-4 or we would have waited to get one before switching...right? :yeahright

Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
Or having LBs that actually know how to play in the 3-4. Instead, let's take a whole bunch of 4-3 DEs (including Carter, who came to Washington to play DE since he wasn't working out in SF's 3-4) and convert them to LBs.

Re: Week 3: Redskins vs. Rams Gameday thread
From Dan Steinberg:
Best Question, Part I: Did Clinton Portis just lose his job to a guy who was on the practice squad a week ago? Worst Deja Vu: Week 3, on the road, against a bad 0-2 team with a rookie quarterback, and the Redskins lose. This probably wasn't as horrific as the Lions game, since Detroit had lost 19 straight at the time and was a national laughingstock in the way St. Louis wasn't. But this wasn't good. Worst Drive: The Redskins got the ball at their 37 late in the third quarter. They went incomplete (bounce pass to Roydell Williams), incomplete (off-target to Cooley), incomplete (pass behind Keiland Williams). The drive lasted 23 seconds. Best One-liner, Part I: Sam Huff, before the game, when Doc Walker attempted to reassure the crew that Stephon Heyer would hold his own. "He not only holds his own, he holds the opponent," Huff said. Worst Talk: DeAngelo Hall said earlier in the week that this was his defense, and that he wanted to cover the playmakers on the other team. His defining moment from this game came when he slipped on a short pass to Mark Clayton, allowing Clayton to run free down the sidelines. Best Quote: Brian Mitchell, in the Comcast SportsNet post-game: "This is a terrible team at this point....The game I saw today reminded me so much of last year, it's ridiculous." Best Redskins Stat: Brandon Lloyd: 6 catches, 169 yards, 1 TD. Oh, wait.... Worst Redskins Stat: Washington has 115 rushing yards in the first half, and 1 rushing yard in the second half. Worst Celebration: After the Rams converted a 3rd-and-6 late in the second quarter, LaRon Landry leveled Danny Amendola, and then appeared to celebrate. It was a vicious hit, but I still don't get how you can celebrate a play in which the other team gets a first down. Worst Defense: In three games, the new Redskins defense has allowed 380 yards, 526 yards, and 365 yards. Worst News: The Redskins defense just got shredded by a rookie quarterback in his third NFL game. Next week, they face Michael Vick, who just accounted for four touchdowns and better than 300 yards on his own.
