Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
Ooops! I was looking for a football forum... I think I stumbled on Dr. Phill's forum instead. My bad. Let's all send TO a big group hug.

TO makes millions of dollars as an NFL receiver. He could be considered one of the best in the game based on his performances on the field. All of his negative publicity was due to him being an ass over and over again. He brought it all on himself. Now we're supposed to feel sorry for him, because he's a human? "Don't cry for me Argentina" Eff him. |

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
The denials begin.... Who could have predicted....
"Former NFL player Deion Sanders told the NFL Network that he had spoken to Owens and Owens said, "Man, that didn't happen," referring to reports of a suicide attempt. Sanders relayed that Owens said the pain medication did not agree with him and when coupled with supplements he was taking, it left him incoherent when asked about the suicide attempt." Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
For those of you who are unwilling or unable to show any empathy for a person battling with suicidal depression (if the reports are true), then I hope from the bottom of my heart that you never have to experience depression up close and personal. As someone who has seen depression and suicide in my family, I can tell you it is the most gut wrenching and painful thing you have ever even attempted to comprehend.
T.O. is an first class jerk, no if ands or buts, but to show no empathy for another human struggling like that is pretty low. To joke about it is reprehensible. Frankly, I am embarrased to be a member of this community right now. |

2. No one on this site is actually making fun of depression or people with depression, like your family members. It's simply a case of not giving him a "free pass" to be an ass. If Osama Bin Laden comes out and says he is depressed, do we forgive him immediately for 9/11 and give him a hug? (and you thought that the US Soldier - TO analogy was a stretch!?) 3. "Embarrased to be a member of this community"? C'mon drama queen - take a deep breath and float back down to reality, homes. |

Free pass to be an ass is one thing, to say very ignorant things about someone who may have tried to commit suicide is another. An to compare BinLaden to TO in the same sentence is a joke. I can't believe that is even put in the same breath. I dont think anyones reaction to people saying because he is an ass or a jerk (as seen in interviews) is being drama queens. Some people have been personally effected by suicide or attempted suicide, depression. To try and justify the ridiculous comments by some people out here is crazy. We are all human beings. TO is person, dont even try to compare him with a terrorist for crying out load. that is just plain stupid. |

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
that all depends on who you ask... if you could ask Ghandi or Martin Luther King Jr. they would say that you have to forgive all no matter what crime or act they committed... but I don't see how you could compare osama bin laden and TO in any way

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
I can't believe some of the stuff people write out here. You are talking about a human being for christ sake. You are hating the guy because of him being a Eagle, a cowboy.. that is ridiculous. Everyone, rich, poor, middle class has problems. For people to cuss the guy when he is apparently going through depression issues or what ever the case may be is class less. I had a very close family member who committed suicide because of depression and to hear people say the most insensative things I have ever heard speaks volumes of ones inteligence. If all you can do is call the guy a moron, ass, F this and F that, then dont say anything. People going through depression are not their normal selves and obviously need some sort of professional help. To be so callus towards and athlete because you dont like their antics or who they play for is stupid. I thought people here could differentiate between athletes and the real people they are off the field. I guess not.

Re: ESPN Report: Terrell Owens attempts suicide
all joking aside TO and the media what more can you really say.
for me the media has their own pool swimming with the sharks just to get a story.TO is a great talent but it,s the personi and the way he carrys himself that bothers me. this sure sounds like something blown out of proportion to me...
