Well looky there... you searched for threads ...

I can respect that you think JC is the best ever (yeah right) without telling you you are a retard, because I know his play will make you eat your words.....

You don't seem to be respecting Matty's opinion that that post was complete garbage.

In all seriousness, it's one thing to demand that everyone respect everyone's opinion and that's a noble trait that should be exercised when it's called for. But there's also something to be said for respecting the collective intelligence of the members here and the integrity of this site. When an "opinion" lacks any substance or is erroneous in fact then it should be called out.

The difference of opinions is what makes the site strong. But when an opinion like benching Campbell means 6 more wins is presented it would be a disservice to everyone else to simply "respect" it. In my view, there are two ways to respond to a post like that a) ignore it and hope it just fades into warpath oblivion or b) challenge the original poster to back up their statements.

If Troy is so sure about what he's saying then he certainly will be able to defend himself. Though we may not agree, maybe he will add a little more reasoning behind what he has said. I mean irish seemed to make an attempt to defend Troy's case (though I disagree, at least irish tried).

When/if JC does well then his supporters can blow his critics up, but if he stinks then it's our turn.... I just hope he's more consistent going forward (one way or another) so we aren't always arguing.
Are you hoping he's consistently bad?

Not really, I just read the entire thread and flipped one page back to reference those links.

JC - If I hoped for that, I wouldn't be much of a Skins fan, now would I? I HOPE he plays his guts out and wins games and we all fall in love with him. I'll even happily let you all tell me how wrong I was for years to come!

BTW, TC struggled mightily in preseason which is why IMO he wasnt the starter. It turns out he could run Saunders O better than JC but in preseason it didnt look that way.

My point is, to say that having TC come in for JC is a major downgrade at QB is completely false. The evidence just does not support that prediction.

I never said that TC was a complete downgrade from JC. If that was the case, he had no business being re- signed. The point I thought was being made was that TC would improve the team by 6 wins while JC would drive us to a dismal 6- 10 record. I cannot believe that the improvement JC has shown in his first few preseason games as well as over last season was all for naught and he is going to somehow completely regress to a stage of rookiedom

I think both TC & JC could take this team to somewhere in the 7 to 9 win range. Like I said in some previous posts, the preseason does not predict anything from player performance to team record.

yeah like dirtylandry said, they are 1 injury to TO or romo away from being a non-factor. that being said, if those 2 stay relatively healthy they will probably win the division. guess we'll have to wait and see.

NFC East:

1- eagles (10-6 if mcnabb stays healthy, he looked good beg of last year)
2- cowboys (10-6)
3 - skins (8-8 no playoffs, next year we should be on top)
4 - giants (7-9)

hard to not put the skins on top but unless our D steps up from a solid performance last year we remain a grind it out .500 team that needs a another spectacular push in the end to snag a wildcard spot. next year i anticipate high expectations around here.

go skins!

You have an opinion on why the Cowboys should not win. How about an opinion on why anyone else will.

Becuase they(the Cowboys) think that only they can,ask the Giants if they care about the Cowboys 13 pro bowl players or who won the East?Anyone that doesn't believe that the East is wide open is a fool !

And the last I checked, Collins was a Saunders hand picked guy who knows his offense, and as of today, Saunders offense is in St. Louis, but Collins is in Washington.
In short, what we saw from Collins last year, can very easily be a 1 time occurance.

I think Garrett's offense was figured out, and there is no way they will be a top team like last year. They will be good, sure, but so won't all of us in the east. This seems to be a year that all 4 teams in the east have an equal shot at the division.

God forbid me go out of my way to defend the Eagles, and I'm only really responding because I agree with you that McNabb isn't leading anyone anywhere. I do think to say that they don't have a chance to compete because of their QB is ignoring all the talent that has developed in the last two years since I started the "Is it me, or do the Eagles have no talent" thread back in the Summer of '06.

Top to bottom, they are the deepest team in the NFC this side of Green Bay. They have the best offensive weapon in the conference, and have really, really invested heavily in both of their lines. For the first time since 2003, they go three deep with competent corners, and when they do add free agents, they make it someone like Chris Clemons, who we Redskins fans know can produce at DE.

Even at the Quarterback position, they are in better position now to deal with a McNabb injury than at any point last year, with Kolb having spent his rookie year under the tutilage of Reid and Morninweg.

I think it's fallacious to act like they are McNabb's team, because they are a very good team, QB aside. If McNabb plays decent football, they probably win the East, but again, I'm not totally confident that he will play his best this year.
