Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions
IF we get a decent pass rush out of our front 4 with Ben hurting I say we win.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions
He'll still be sharing carries with Moore, he's not completely back yet. Out D is not a good one to face coming back from injury.

Good. It'll give him a chance to meet Chris Horton.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions
And surprisingly, we did not make it on this list: NFL's top 10 injuried teams

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions
I'm an optimist. I like the Skins in a close nail bitter, 17 -14.

This would be helpful in our WINNING cause, one more of their key troopers out, maybe....? Go have your baby.
POPS POLAMALU TO MISS MONDAY’S GAME? Posted by Mike Florio on October 31, 2008, 4:34 p.m. The guy who won’t let a little concussion (or 12) keep him from playing football might miss a game due to something unrelated to his own health and well-being. Steelers safety Troy Polamalu is expecting his first child, a son. According to the Beaver County Times, he possibly won’t be with the team on Monday night in D.C. as Pittsburgh prepares to play the Redskins. Asked whether the situation might result in Polamalu not playing, he said, “I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.” Tim Benz of WXDX in Pittsburgh advises us that Polamalu didn’t practice on Friday, but no reason was given for his absence other than that it was non-football related. Polamalu’s son will be named Paisos, which is Samoan for “Son Of Man Who Badly Needs Haircut.”

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions
I hope his wife goes into labor on Monday afternoon and they have a beautiful, healthy child. And he then watches his team lose from a TV in the hospital.
If Polamalu doesn't make it, with Ryan Clark already listed as out for the game, they will be missing both starting safeties.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers predictions
I would pick the Redskins to win if we were relatively healthy. However, our Pro Bowl left tackle, Pro Bowl #1 wide receiver, Pro Bowl left defensive end, Pro Bowl #1 corner, best interior defensive lineman, and Carlos Rogers and Laron Landry all "Out" or "Questionable."
Also, the Steelers' biggest weakness is pass protection and we don't appear to have the pass rushing firepower to exploit that weakness. Conversely, one of our bigger weaknesses lies in pass protection and the Steelers' greatest strengths is pass rushing. With Samuels hurt and Jansen a liability in pass protection, I think it's reasonable to see JC get sacked between 3-5 times. End result - an ugly 24-14 Steelers win. On the bright side, we enter the bye at the right time with a 6-3 record. |
