Re: Release Him!!!

The version I like to come up with is Cerrato is hoisting the Lombardi trophy as champagne is pouring over him next February then just turns and hands the trophy to Snyder and says "Well, my work here is done" and rides off onto the sunset. Isn't that so much more family friendly?

I could live with that too.

Re: Release Him!!!

But in all seriousness, I don't think Cerrato is quite as bad as people say he is. That said, I think this or next season will be his last as the EVP of Football Operations and he will move on to bigger, more non-football related matters for Snyder.

I'm sure someone will be like:

"Cerrato doesn't know how to lift the trophy, he sucks. Now GMs from teams like New England or Pittsburgh, they know how to lift a trophy."

What makes you think that? You think Snyder will make a move for a GM? Or do you think this will be Cerrato's decision? Just curious where your thought process is with this.

I think Snyder would ultimately like to have Cerrato be more of his right hand man for stuff other than football decisions. Ideally Mo Brown or Scott Campbell (reportedly more so Mo Brown) will gain more experience this next year or two and move up the ladder.

Great, now we have people wanting the owner beat up.

Hmmm, that's interesting. This is the first I've heard anyone say something like that. I would be interested to see if we could get a REAL GM here. I'm not familiar with either of those names so my next question would inevitably be...are they worth the inordinate amount of money Snyder would most definitely pay them?

Scott Campbell is one of the major players in our FO.

People say that about Snyder but I'd be interested to see where Zorn and Cerrato fall into the salary ranges with their peers.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Since it doesn't have an effect on the salary cap, I am not sure why it would matter how much he pays them. If they get the job done, and he wants to pay them a top class salary, great.

He could probably pay them a bit less since neither has experience as a General Manager/EVP. People here know I've advocated Scott Campbell for a couple of years. But I'm coming to accept that it seems he's generally viewed by Snyder and Cerrato as the perfect right-hand man so I'm not sure he'll ever get the top spot. I think Morocco Brown has more upside long-term but he's not ready yet.

Thanks. For some reason, I was thinking of someone else when you mentioned Scott Campbell. Not sure who, so don't ask, but was thinking of someone not in our FO already.

I don't guess the salary would be an issue other then it would give the media something else to focus on with Snyder & his money other than what's important or actually news worthy.

BTW, I'm pretty sure your sig is about me.

Yeah they act like its their money that Dan is spending to improve his team. yet noone says a word when JJ builds a Billion Dollar Stadium. Or when the Lions pay a ROOKIE close to 80 Mil.
