Jevan Snead looking strong today at Ole Miss Pro Day.

McCluster apparently ran under a 4.4, interesting that a lot of teams are looking at him only as a WR

Not that I'm advocating it, but I think Grossman was brought in precisely for this reason- if Campbell flops or gets hurt, we've got a guy who has started plenty of games in the NFL that can be a stop-gap so we don't have to throw the rookie to the wolves.
I believe with Shanny coaching them that Bradford certainly and possibly Clausen could be a better option then Campbell. At minimum with conservative play calling they could do as well. In reality we know what Campbell is...he's a guy who will play okay...not make a lot of mistakes but not make a lot of big plays either.

The longer it takes to get Shanny's QB up to speed the longer it will take for the Redskins to compete for a championship. In my eyes sitting around in 2011 with anyone other then the long term answer at QB lining up under center is huge waste of time.

Despite how trendy it's been lately to play a rookie QB from day 1, I don't like the idea unless you have a strong cast around him, which we don't have.

bam! nicely said ChikenMonkey. We can take guys in the first two rounds that fill roles of legitmate need. Rebuilding takes time, lets give JC/SexyRexy a semblance of an Oline, if they don't pan out, we can worry about a QB next year.

I am not as concerned with the rookie starting on opening day 2010 but I want a rookie Qb that can be ready to go by opening day 2011 at the latest. It doesn't sound all that likely that Tebow will be ready in that timeframe.

I think it's funny when they say they are holding work outs with them.....

I mean I read somewhere that NFL rules regarding work outs is that they draftee can work out at his home town high school, his college or his hometown. I think. The only thing the draftee's can do at the Redskins facility is get an examination and talk football. No physical work outs are allowed. So I hear.

Bam! and this is my issue. I betting JC is not here next year. He'll have another year of mediocracy, the front office will not renew his contract, and we will be stuck with SexyRexy who is not a franchise QB and a late round QB like Colt Brennan, only Colt has a couple of years in the league vs. a Rookie who will take just as long about 2-3 yrs to get up to speed.

If were in that mode then everyone better hope Colt comes out banging. Otherwise we are screwed. Which is why I'd rather pick a QB high in this yrs draft and if he's the best QB we have play him if not he has a yr to get up to speed in order to replace JC.

No one has come out with any decent idea as to what we will be doing after 2010 when JC hits the road. I keep hearing we can draft a QB next year. Yeah, that makes sense when we will be down farther in the draft and will essentially picking up or reaching for a lesser talented QB like a Tebow or McCoy late in the first round. JC was a reach and you see we are still 5yrs later trying to develope him. Colt has had 2 yrs and yes I'm counting injuries. I'm all for getting the supporting cast but it does no good when your General sucks. Remember Custer.

This is why I would be doing whatever I have to do to get whatever QB Shanny rates as the best. If Shanny wants Bradford then they need to bite the bullet and trade up to #1 and get him. If it's Clausen they need to take him at #4. Either way, I think it is imperative that the Redskins leave this draft with the guy they view as the long term QB on the roster.

Essentially, there's really no one in this class who, in the near term future, isn't going to force you to take the good with the bad. Tebow's going to be rough around the edges for some time...maybe to the point where he's completely unplayable as a first year player (he didn't really even run a college playbook until his Sophomore year -- when he won the Heisman), but I believe development after that point will happen pretty standard amongst all QBs in this draft.

If the projection for Tebow is that he's going to be a highly efficient player, I say, go for it.

Actually remember that either Colt or Grossman would be left out. It is a pretty dicey situation but worse comes to worse you could apply the tranistion tag to JC or find a veteran to bring in. The team is 2 or 3 years away from competing anyway but at the same time we have a heavy emphasis on the run so Tebow won't be left out in the cold. I think though that he will develop faster then people think but all of this could be moot. Personally Tebow reminds me of a shorter and more wholesome version of Big Ben.

Also remember that Flacco and Ben had pretty smooth transitions from the spread in college so while the spread offense is a deterent it's still not a deal breaker especially when it comes to early success.

Is it just me or has the support for Tebow really picked up in the last day or two?

You want us to pick Bradford, my god. There's never been a QB in the history of the draft built like him who actually has been slated to be drafted in the first round. At best, he defies all comparable. At worst, he has no business being a first rounder.

I don't think you have any idea that it costs more to go from No. 4 to No. 1 than it does to go from wherever we pick in the draft next year to No. 4. But this, unfortunately, is fact.
