Haynesworth looked really solid, as did Carter playing with his hand in the dirt and Alexander and Wilson playing in space Million dollar question

More than anything I think the Eagles just did a good job at clamping down on the run there for a while.

And yes, Carter needs to keep his hand in the dirt where it belongs. |

Let's not forget that Vick was out of the game and Kolb was terrible. I think the next two weeks is really going to tell if this defense is getting better.

Love AC, but, when he is in coverage, it's like the D only has 10 guys on the field.

I thought Haynesworth played relatively well. He was getting penetration through the line and making tackles. I think Fat Al will continue to improve throughout the season. It is going to take more than four games for this offense to gel into the offense we hope to see. But, we have already seen flashes of how explosive it can be. The 'skins get Trent Williams back and have two healthy running backs (Portis and torrain,) things will start picking up. Give this team a year or two, and I think you'll see a big difference.

Haynesworth had his best game of the year, keep him in there. Now you talk about approach with your first question...on defense the different approach was evident. Funnel the passing plays to the underneath check down guys, played a more 4-3 along line, and only a couple blitzs the entire game. Haslett said "no big plays from Macklin and Jackson" which turned out to be the right approach. The real Redskins? who knows, but if we can play D like that and run the ball like we did...we could be a wild card contender period

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)
I love the Monday morning analysis. You're telling me four games into the season, we can predict who's looking like playoff material and who isn't? Good grief, the Chiefs are undefeated and my money is on them folding like a tent down the stretch. I believe the Redskins are improving little by little in different facets, they've just yet to put it all together in one game.
We've seen McNabb open up the passing game and go bonkers against the Texans. The running game is finally starting to show some flashes. We're getting more comforatable with the defensive scheme, even Haynesworth is starting to get his sea legs. I'm sorry, but I'm encouraged. And for all the what if Vick doesn't get hurt apologists, give me a break!! I can't believe B.Mitch, of all people, went there post game. His ass got hit by a hard hitting defense, that's not luck that's football. We've potentially changed the entire dynamic of Philly's season and maybe the NFC East. We pull off an upset Sunday and suddenly we're talking about a Wild Card caliber team. Let's hope so. |

Skins were 0-6 in the division last year, so 2-0 so far is a big improvement.

If you guys haven't heard McNabb's post game locker room speech, please go somewhere and find it. This is the leader we've been missing for so long.

The subtle dig he took at the Eagles at the end of the speech was priceless. There's nothing like outspoken interdivisional animosity. |
