Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3
Don't think he's a nose, more likely a DE.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3
I think he would have been there at 49 but maybe they have other plans for that pick.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3
Yup. But we don't have a pick in the third. So we reach a bit but get someone to fill the NT slot. Maybe it works out, maybe not. Who knows, maybe some of Bowers 15 sacks came from this guy keeping playes honest.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3
I think we are overreacting a little bit. I'd have rather taken Paea myself if we are going dline, but at the same time the teams scouts might see something in him that we don't. He's got the size and they say he has "functional strength" meaning he's farm boy strong would be my explanation. Might not be able to lift a bar with 225lbs on it a bunch of times, but could throw bails of hay like it's nothing. We'll have to wait and see.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3
Kid is a potential beast, but unless we are going to make a grab for Carson Palmer, we should have gone for a QB. I can see us keep Donovan, but with all that went on last season I wrote us keeping him off. Can't believe Mallet has fallen this far.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3
Let's go with Rodney Hudson next. Or trade down again. Maybe add a 3rd and something next year.

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Rounds 2-3
Mallett could be there for our next pick, which isn't too far away. I guess we're serious about re-building our D-line, which is good. But we need some secondary help too (although I am not sure if there are any free safety prospects available). And some O-line help. Actually, we need more help than we could get out of the draft even if we were the Patriots with their 537 picks.
