Re: Coaching Changes
Posted this months ago, but I guess I'll post it again
Shanahan's Broncos also finished 10-6 two times and 11-5 another time but did not win the division. And one of Norv's division titles came with an 8-8 record (same record as Shanahan's Broncos and as Zorn's Redskins...who finished last in the division)

Re: Coaching Changes
And all of those accomplishments are now 7+ years old, replaced only by failure and disappointment.
I think the Chargers had a great argument to get rid of Norv, which is that you don't pay your coach for things he accomplished many years ago. They still think they can win with him. They probably can, but they are more faithful than their fanbase is.

As Jerra Jones sadly weeps in the darkened corner of his office, nussled in the fetile position, wimmpering "stay classy San Diego my ass, there goes my new oc".

I said yesterday that if you look closely, you can see signs that the offense is improved, maybe even much improved. I also agree with people that say the defense is improved. There is something to be said for incremental progress in the face of consistent personnel gaffes. I might not be the one to put it into words, but I'm also not here to deny that good moves have been made, and it's those good moves that are responsible for the offensive and defensive progress from 2010 to 2011.

Re: Coaching Changes
Idk how the Chargers want to keep Norval. He took a good Chargers team and turned it into something whose on field production does not match the talent level.

Re: Coaching Changes
Mike Martz has left the Bears.
He would be a nice grab if we could shed Little Shan.

Re: Coaching Changes
^ i dont...
and I'd rather stick with a damn system for another year than get a new, and from what I understand more complicated than not, system.

Re: Coaching Changes
Mike Martz is nice if you want your QB destroyed every other play. Everywhere he's gone, his QB hasn't made it.
