In all seriousness though it's not just about the numbers. The ease in which he completes deep passes is scary. Maybe even scarier then his speed. It's like while he was at Baylor every 4th or 5th pass went for more then 20 yards and we're not talking screens and slants that went for big gains, I'm talking about streaks, out and ups, comebacks, post, corners etc. The big boy throws.
Ty Detmer threw a mean deep ball too

This is exactly right. Taking the other teams best player out with a nice clean hit has been in football since day one. When has it not been there? We did it when I played. Jerry Glanvile, Bum Phillips, Buddy Ryan and many other coaches put bounty's out or just plain verbal challenges to take out opposing players all the time. But they did with the intention of doing it with a clean hit. Not dirty.

The media and the NFL FO is making a big deal out this because of all the concussion law suits. The main reason I say this is New Orleans during the time of this so called pay to play is/was not known as a dirty team. Shanahan's Denver teams ended the season for several defensive players with chop blocks that were seen as dirty. The Raiders teams of the 70's and 80's were tough and dirty. New Orleans? Not so much.
I think Goddell is trying to make a big deal about the money and saying it bypassed the salary cap. BS! This just makes for good PR for Goddell and the NFL right as the concussion law suits against the NFL will be starting.
For all the hypocrites that think this is so wrong, remember the times in frustration when you screamed at the TV for our Redskins to kill and knock the head off of Romo, Eli, Vick, Staubach, Simms, etc....

Tennessee and Indianapolis have played each other in the same division since 2002.

So they roughed him up a little. WHO CARES. Hitting the QB use to be a part of football. Now you can't even touch them. The NFL has become a soft league. Bounties are/were a part of football in small ways and in larger way..like this one GW was behind. It's just not a big deal to me. I've heard some of players comment on it and they're like...."So what?"

Sean Payton knew about it NO, but I've gotta believe that Gibbs didn't know about it here.
Do you HONESTLY think Joe Gibbs knew NOTHING about this? C'mon... Joe Gibbs may be an aw shucks kind of guy but behind closed doors you're talking about a VERY competitive person. A lot of fans don't remember this but he once ran up the score on Joe Bugel.

I believe Gibbs 100%.

He always let his DC run that side of the ball. Plus he would have no reason to lie about it now, and if you know anything about him as a person he would never allow such a thing.

Re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters

Clayton just said on Sportscenter that it is UNLIKELY the Redskins will face any sanctions from their bounties. Too far back in the past.

Add to it that it wasn't known about from the organizational standpoint and most of the players from those teams are out of the league, it would be unfair to penalize the 2013 Redskins for something a coach who has been with 3 other teams since did back in the mid 2000's.

But they were illegal late hits and the Saints were told to stop but didn't, it's more than just roughing up the QB

Re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters

Matt Bowen is on sports center right now talking in detail about the bounty system with the Redskins. He said it was supposed to be clean hits, not purposefully to hurt someone.
