They will be cutting someone tomorrow, Overthecap had them with 1.9 mill today, the length of the deal lets them give a major signing bonus, and spread it out. But you still think the hit will be at least 4-5 million. Wasn't Sproles release going to free up about 4 million? That or the trade has gotta happen I imagine.

Gotta be some thing like 55 mil with 24 guaranteed. That makes it roughly worth 6-7 mil this year. Just a guess and the structure could totally be different but still.

Pretty good sir:

Josina Anderson ‏@JosinaAnderson 1m
Here are the numbers: Source: S Jairus Byrd gets a 6-year deal with the Saints at a max value of $54M, Guaranteed figure is just over $27M.

And I'll just throw it out there. Revis at the right price and the right kind of contract would be pretty sweet.

It looks like those big name and big pay days are gone with this team. I am fine with that, just need to make sure we have some good drafts and develop our players in the upcoming drafts.

I'm not talking about a big pay day. I'm talking a "you've worn out your welcome in two spots in three years and now it's time to rebuild you rep" discounted contract.

I guess so, but i think he will still want a deal comparable to the deals given today. If he is released it may help us get Talib at a cheaper price since the Pats have interest in Revis.

That's the kind of idea I'm on board with. I don't think there's any young talent left in FA worth giving big money too, I wouldn't mind giving a short term deal to someone like Revis with a lot left to prove. Worst case, he doesn't fill a need, best case, think Randy Moss with the Pats type resurgence.

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread

Antonio Smith would be a key addition, he would give the Skins pressure from the front 3

Also paying $5+ million a year for an old, or mediocre safety is foolish ( Mitchell, Clemons, or Bethea) ....... get another CB and try DHall at FS, and draft a FS

Lol talking about a 5+ mil for an old mediocre safety, and then you talk about a DE on the wrong side of 30 being a key addition. I wouldn't mind bringing Smith in a low budget, 1-2 year deal, but he's gonna be looking for "I need one last payday before I retire" money.

The DE on the wrong side of 30 had 5 sacks, the entire DL had 5.5 , and he will not cost $1 million dollars per sack. ...signing vets with a few good years left to short term contracts would be smart
