Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson

Moss cap number definitley hurts his chances a bit, they can save half a million under the cap by keep Robinson over Moss. I really like Moss, but he drops alot of balls. He is going to produce 20-30 catches this year, maybe. So it's all about what they can afford, makes the most sense for the cap.

Lol. I did not advocate this signing at all, but it's actually a good signing so I'm not sure why he was so upset. Yes, he can help us drastically. Yes, he's a diva. But the deal was reasonable.

I think we'd all like to see this happen.

Nevertheless, if we have enough cap space left, I'd love to see the Skins pick up one of De La Puenta, Winston, or Clabo. Then, I'd like to see one or two OL drafted, as well.

Lets remember that DJax is a pro bowl caliber punt returner also. I think this signing was an absolute steal.

That does lead me to think there's going to be a duke out between Robinson and Hank for that last WR spot.

It also makes me think they're going to release my all time favorite player, Nick Williams. Meh.
I can't remember when we've had a receiver corps with so much speed.

He hasn't done shit in terms of punt returning in years so you can pretty much scratch that off the list.

I will deservedly get slammed for this, based on all my previous snide comments about Winston. But here I go:

Eric Winston was and is a quality RT who has been on 3 teams in 3 years - Red Flag

Eric Winston had very little traction at the start of FA - Red Flag

Eric Winston is 30 years old - yellow flag

Eric Winston and Ryan Clark were work together on the NFLPA, where Winston just beat out Clark for presidency - connection

Eric Winston is a SERIOUS upgrade over Polumbus.

Shoot me now for saying this

We ought to sign Winston and cut Polumbus now.

In a roundabout way we just got our 1st round draft pick back.
Things are shaping up nicely.

Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson

I didn't want it to happen, but what's done is done.

Hopefully, he puts up something like: 80-1,100-8. I'd be happy with those numbers. And the deal is reasonable, much like the Hatcher deal. So right now, on paper, this team is easily better than the atrocity we fielded last year. Now let's go to the draft and get a good RT and FS, then see where Gruden and Co. can take us.

As others have said, the core of our offense is quite young. As long as RG3 holds up his end of the bargain, we should have a great offense for a long time. Don't want to be the Cowboys though, and have a great offense but no defense.

Winston gave up 7 sacks last year, pass

Chip Kelly didnt use him because he was afraid of him getting hurt. He can still be a pro bowl caliber kick returner if we choose to make him one. I am certainly not scratching that off my list.
Edit: he actually had 16 punt return attempts last year and ten ko return attempts.

Andy Reid also limited him in terms of returning punts and I hope we do the same. You don't let a marquee receiver get hurt on punt returns.

Golden Tate got the Paul Kruger deal this year, one that Detriot will regret for years, he's a terrible player, a #2, borderline #3.

Riley Cooper is a clear #2 and got 25 mil, possession guy. A guy who is not a game changer, but can make some unbelievable 8 yard receptions.

Eric Decker flat robbed the bank. He ends up in a spot where he has to be the man and gets no help. The Jets front office is a joke, this is the worst of all the contracts. He's a borderline #2, more like a #3.

Folks we get a game changer for 3 years at 24 million. 24 million. A #1 WR, the biggest deep threat receiver in the game today. Wow
How does being a #2/#3 = a terrible player? Is Andre Roberts a terrible player?
