If we need a body on the roster for that spot I would look at those two.

Re: 2015 Free Agents

Okay, let's just cut everybody. How are you planning on replacing them? With free agents? Unless we spend a boatload of money, that's a lot of change just for the sake of change. Draft picks? We'll probably have at the very most 10 or so, and a lot of those won't be ready to play right away, despite your opinion that rookies have to be or they're "useless."

I don't care if they stay or go because we will be losing for the next couple of years with or without them. We'd actually be better off going 0-16 than 4-12. Then we'd get the No. 1 draft pick.

I'd rather have younger players; UDFA's, players off of other team's Taxi Squads, CFL players, and players straight off the street who we can try to develop. If I were the GM, I'd give any big, fast young player who shows up at Redskins Park a tryout. That's what Jimmy Johnson did when he took over the Cowboys years ago and he found some good players that way.

Re: 2015 Free Agents

moses fell and was considered a bit of a value pick. the other two were taken at least a couple rounds early.

Coming off a tough injury we probably can't expect much of anything from Moses this year. Shame.

I still want Mike Iupati in a Redskins jersey. He and Trent next to each other can have that Walter Jones, Steve Hutchinson look on the field

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Me, too. Sign Iupati, draft the best RT candidate, and move on to fixing the defense. Lauvao should be OK as a member of that line.

The only other FA I really want is Devin McCourty. I say pay the man! We need a top FS in the worst way.

So, I say we should pay top dollar for a FS and an OG who we can can plug in and then only go for bargains on young players for any other FA's we sign.

Cut the high-priced deadwood to pay for them.

I would be happy with Gibson, or McLeod from DeMatha/ UVA.... they are young, and should cost less

Iupati missed games with a knee injury and will not be cheap.

Thought we weren't doing this anymore.

We could follow the pattern we have over the last decade and give the guy the contract he wants, you know, the one the team that drafted, developed, and knows him best probably won't give him.

When a guy at his level is "testing" free agency, most of the time he isn't going to be a good value. He will command top dollar.

With the rookie contracts being tilted so much toward the teams, the way to be consistently successful is draft first and look for bargains in free agency. (Green Bay, New England, Seattle, and San Fran)

As mentioned in another thread, the Patriots are starting two undrafted free agents on their offensive line in the Super Bowl.

Paying huge money for the best player at a position (QB and LT excluded) is putting too many eggs in one basket.

Iupati has been a great player. He will be expensive, has a lower body injury history and is carrying 330lbs. He will not heal as fast as he did two years ago. Not a good bargain.

Over paying for free agents with injury histories.

The thing the new GM said he didn't like to do.

Please see previous post above.

Re: 2015 Free Agents

Iupati has probably missed 6 games in 5 years, I wouldn't call him injury prone. 49ers would keep him if they had the cap space. All I know is the OL would improve 50% over night.
