Well then. It's settled... sending in my resume too. You've got some competition, CRed.

I'm not taking on a 17yo with a game controller. They are lethal! Next thing I know - my emails will be filled with nothing but porn.

Well more than it already is

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News

The reality is that any good DC candidate SHOULD have concerns about the talent. There isn't much. We're 2 good drafts and a few deft FA seasons away from having good talent and some depth. Realistically we shouldn't actually expect a defense that is much better in the macro than we've had. Haslett was an in-game tactical knucklehead who blew it play-to-play. I think if you at how the defense played on average he got about as much out of them as he could.

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News

ESPN 980 - WASHINGTON D.C.

Nice write up by Chris Russell summarizing the DC search. Honestly, at this point I feel that the Redskins have done their due diligence in their search. It's obvious that Fangio is their first choice, but he seems to be a hot commodity right now and he may not choose us.

At this point, I'm kinda okay with any of these candidates, except Morris.

I feel that Fangio is the popular/hot commodity choice, but I don't think it'll be the end of the world if he doesn't choose us. Still it would be nice to get him.

Phillips would be the quick but short term fix for the defense. Which is not a terrible thing, as they could use an above average D to help with the offense's woes. Personally, I feel he's the only one that could turn the defense around the fastest.

Barry/Pendergast seem like good solid "young" coaches with experience. I get the sense that the team wants someone to come and light a fire under these guys on defense. Which is not a terrible thing, given that we have young players in key areas.

JLC is suggesting it's a virtual certainty that Famgio and Donatell sign by tomorrow morning.

Yup just saw that. Though the tweets seem more like speculations IMO:

So, if i'm a betting man, then get ready for Fangio and Donatell tel accept jobs with the Skins in the AM. The wait will only last so long

I'd expect Vig Fangio and Ed Donatell to agree to join the Skins coaching staff by Tues AM. Would be very surprised if they did not

I wonder where he's getting this from?

Other twitter insiders seem to be pretty confident that he's the next DC too. I agree though, this should be taken with a grain so salt.

What seems like a teaser from Keim:

John Keim ‏@john_keim 9m9 minutes ago
will be an interesting morning for the redskins. dominoes will start falling soon. Source said nothing new with fangio. Could b diff in AM?

And a shoot down from Chris Russell:

Chris Russell ‏@Russellmania980 7m7 minutes ago
This won't make #Redskins fans sleep easy. I asked a source involved in Vic Fangio situation if JLC report was accurate? Very quick "NO"

Yeah, most of the insiders said "No" to that as well. JLC is blowing smoke out his ass on this one.

Re: 2015 Redskins Coaches/Coordinators News

Twitterverse abuzz on DC issue:

- Wade Phillips not being considered b/c of his age.

- Concern that Skins looking for energy and motivation from DC. Emphasis not on teaching and development. Apparently, Morris benefits greatly by weighting the "motivational" requirement.

Who knows how reliable this is. Lots of dross. LaCanfora hints Fangio, Keim has source who said "No" if LaCanfora correct.

Bottom line, we'll know when we know. The "coaching v. cheerleading" issue is a bigger concern to me. If that is (and has been) a prerequisite for coaching positions, then it would speak volumes as to why development has been an issue.

Belichick is many things, rah-rah motivational he is not. At the same time, he and his staff coach players. Talented players are great and necessary to win. More important, I would suggest is the development of talented and marginally talented college players into professionals.

Jim Schwartz could provide both....if we had interest before, why not now.

I think the biggest thing holding Schwartz back is not having a proper Bruce Allen connection. eff this sh*t

So you're assuming that Schwartz really wants to be here?

Fangio had no connections to Allen and he was the team's #1 candidate from the beginning. So can we can tone down with the whole networking/connections complaints.

The funny thing is that Fangio went to Chicago because he has strong ties to Fox.
