Re: Final Roster
This is what's so alarming to me. How do you draft a guy in the 2nd round who obviously doesn't love football. Seems like this is the case with not only Cravens but Jones too.

I would argue that they "don't love football".My assessment is that they have put their priorities in place and football is not top of the list any more. Some people have an epiphany at the strangest times and that little voice in your head tells you what to do.

Re: Final Roster
Plus wasn't it McC matching orders when drafting he wanted "football" players, people who loved the game. Anywho these guys are very young and Carvens is just done with football, so be it. Next guy.

Re: Final Roster
It seems that Scotty M doesn't really know what constitutes a real "football guy". Only
Crowder and Scherf panned out, and Leonard Williams would have been a better pick than Brandon. The Doctson pick was the biggest wtf pick of the draft! |

Norman being somewhat exposed for being the victim of super hype, the only really solid free agent pickup has been Vernon Davis. Josh was a good pickup, but not for the $$$$ we gave him. Only worse deal was when Snyder gave all that $$$$$ to Deion and Reed. At least Bruce Smith did something. |

Re: Final Roster
John Riggins retired then returned to carry us to our first Super Bowl win.
The sky is not falling. Some of you folks are really upset because one unproven player is acting out. Big deal. Given what is happening here in Houston this seems small. Maybe if people did not try to pressure Sua into coming back from injury before HE was ready, he might not be acting this way. |

Re: Final Roster
A player contemplates retirement and all of a sudden one of the most respected talent evaluators in the game is a buffoon. Fans crack me up.

Re: Final Roster
Listening (or, really, reading) stuff about Cravens makes me wonder about his mental state; it just doesn't seem rational or terribly coherent, adding to the health concern, in my mind at least.
Switching gears, I had wondered whether the team might have considered Alex Boone (long time starter for the 49ers and just cut by the Vikings). He's 30, so not exactly injecting youth, but seems more established and solid at a position of need (G) as opposed to Clemmens who we just signed off of waivers (also from the Vikings) who plays T.

Re: Final Roster
Not a buffoon, just maybe he was overhyped. Too much Kool Aid for us at the time. I remember when people were singing the praises of Allen not too long ago in here. Besides hindsight is 20/20, and the fact is that draft didn't go so well. The whole getting "football guys" thing was just hype to give us fans hope, when in reality the guys acquired were truly second or third tier players. It worked for the most part(the hype). Thing is we are still getting scrubs for the D line problem.

Re: Final Roster
Didn't I see Cravens in an interview say he was excited to start playing safety like a football player he models himself after Sean Taylor? Maybe it was all BS. I understand retirement if you are scared of long term injury, but to be drafted in a high round play a season act excited about returning and wanting to leave right before week 1. Come on man!

Re: Final Roster
So when are you going to listen to that little voice in your head telling you to stop fooling around with the Giants and become the full fledged Redskins fan, as you know deep down you want to be? Isn't it about time?
