Re: Bucs Postgame

I loved every second of it. We went toe to toe with the GOAT until the very last minutes. Tell us that in September we'd all be on board with it !

Not enough production from our DL, too many mistakes by our secondary, bad play calling by Turner...

But even with that we got robbed by the refs:

-Uncalled holds by their OL

-Absolute bogus holding call on Scherf on that 3rd and 7

-Followed by an absolute bullshit touchback! Play is dead when Apke controls the ball !

-Egrgious OPI on Mike Evans on the following drive !

I'll post pictures/gifs of it all next.

I just don't understand people who shit talk Scherff, first time we've had a first-team All-Pro in 25 years and people think he's overrated. All-Pro is not a popularity contest like the Pro Bowl is, that is legit recognition. It should be the end of discussion.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but don't the Bucs have the #1 ranked run d? I don't have a problem with the playcalling considering that.

Agree my man, I'm not mad at all! Playoffs in Ron's first season and we didn't have good QB play until now.

Kyle Allen had some potential but he's not better than Taylor

I agree that it was the D, not the O, that failed in this game.

Re: Bucs Postgame

One question I have, is Heinicke that small ?
He's listed as 6'1" 213lbs. Baker Mayfield is 6'1" 215lbs. Lamar 6'2" 208. Tua is 6'1" 200. Drew effin Brees is 6'0" 209. Bridgewater is 6'2" 214. Watson is 6'2" 215. Minshew 6'1" 225. Carr 6'2" 214. Kyler Murray is 5'10" 207.

Their OL pretty much contained our D, Young was double teamed and couldn’t generate much, Whirfs did a pretty good job on Sweat and of course the fucking refs. Fucking NFL decides to put a rookie ref for our game.

No. Not sure where that came from. He's not Josh Allen, but his size is not a problem.

Tua is too small too and definitely injury prone. One of the reasons beyond CY being a beast, why I didn't want to draft him.

If you look at all those other guys, maybe outside of Brees, they all look way bigger than Heinicke. Way more meat on the bones. I don't buy that he is 6-1 213. Looks more like 6 190 imo.

Re: Bucs Postgame

As well as Heinike played we still have to draft a QB, and draft one early. You simply can not get caught up in the hype. His sample size is too small to not bring in a rookie. If he is the best guy then so be it. Adding quality depth to the most important position is crucial.

Heinike really was the main reason we were in the game. For the position he was put in, to me he was outstanding. It wasn't too big for him, he made the right reads, he's accurate, he moves well. He makes throws we haven't seen all year. My main question is why was he on the street? How or why is someone who plays that well, with that kind of moxie not on a roster??

Defense all year has been a tad overrated. Yeah they can shut down backup Qb's or subpar offenses, but they were simply gashed yesterday. 500+ yards? C'mon. It was pitch and catch for Brady.

We still have so many holes to fill, but that was a fun game to watch thanks to #4.

My guess is he got an opportunity to start in Carolina and threw three interceptions. He choked. Understandable being an undrafted guy outta Old Dominion. Threw 55 passes though and hurt his elbow. Tough break. But he was never going to get the second chance ( or third fourth fifth etc) that say a Dwayne Haskins would. But he got that second chance miraculously and showed us he has huge potential.

At the least he will get an opportunity going into camp to prove he deserves to be the starter. But I agree, I would still bring in competition for him, either in the form of a rookie or a vet. We can't go all-in after 1 game, even though that game was impressive.

Im absolutely not saying he should be handed the job. Im saying i think he will earn it and then we will see more of the same.
If some stud lands in our laps in the draft then by all means jump on it. Too many good quarterbacks is never a problem.

Exactly. He was fabulous last night, and exactly what this team needed to win that game. But all this talk about anointing him the day 1 starter already is extremely premature.

Re: Bucs Postgame

One of the obvious non called holds by Tampa's OL:

But this phantom hold gets us a flag on 3rd and 7, we punt 2 plays later, massive BS, huge impact on the game:

... and the Bucs get 11 free yards, that wasn't a touchback, ball is dead when Apke controls it at the 9.

Following drive this massive OPI on Evans doesn't get flag... outrageous:

Re: Bucs Postgame

Preach, French. I don't like blaming the refs but they were pretty terrible last night. I gotta wonder how the NFL grades them after games or if they get reprimanded for missing calls because it was terrible yesterday.
