Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
Honestly, I'd like to see what Khaleke Hudson can do. He can't be more of a liability than Bostic has been. The Bostic experiment has expired in my opinion.
Not that one player is going to make a huge difference, but when it's obvious to the entire world that one guy in particular isn't getting it done, I see no harm in trying someone else. |

For our back 7 seven, “zone coverage, how does it work?” Outside of the 3rd down percentage, the passing totals against us is fucking ridiculous. Some terrible numbers in there. JDR needs to mix up the zone coverages and packages

Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
With 2 supposedly top tier CB's, why are we running so much zone? Is it simply because we don't have the quality/depth (particularly at LB) to play more man coverages? And if we're playing so much zone, why aren't we zone blitzing more?
Kind of rhetorical questions I guess, as none of us are on the coaching staff... |

Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
yeah that's pretty obvious, Sheehan said on his podcast yesterday that he thinks there's something going on internally that we don't know about. Some sort of rift between the coaches and players possibly.
This is pretty damning too, guys not giving 110% https://twitter.com/BaldyNFL/status/1442644000897441792 |

Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
I said it all offseason, this D was overrated last year. It was pretty good at times, but far from elite or dominant. They feasted on a lot of bad QB's and were usually burned by the good ones.

Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
Whatever the problem is Ron needs to get this shit figured out ASAP before the season spirals out of control. Far too much talent on this side of the ball for them to be getting their asses handed to them play in and play out.

Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
It seems Rivera saw this coming:
“If you have success and it’s premature and it builds this air about you, that’s not right: You get your butt kicked,” Rivera said this summer. “If for whatever reason we come out and say, ‘Well, we arrived, man; we got this,’ then we’re not going to get better. We’re not going to go back and learn from the basics. We’re not going to understand what it takes to get back to where we need to be.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...am-rebuilding/

Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
Yeah many "experts" had them the #1 Defense .... That's a coaching issue

Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
Can't put it all on the coaches though, players out there not giving 110% is just unacceptable. They get paid a lot of money, do your effing job.

Re: Washington Football Team Defense 2021
The D looks confused … now that could be coaching or there inability to grasp it .. but either is unacceptable at this level..
