Re: Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread

The Saints at 18 could be a move down scenario for us.. If Willis or Corral is there they may want to jump Philly

Re: Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread

11. Washington: Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
If it’s true Washington offered three first-round picks to Seattle for 33-year-old Russell Wilson, then landing 29-year-old Carson Wentz for two third-rounders looks like value. It also means the Commanders won’t be prodded into taking Kenny Pickett with the 11th pick. Brugler scores Gardner as a top-10 talent at 6-foot-3 with 4.41 speed.

Analysis: Kendall Fuller is coming off an impressive season, but after allowing the sixth-most yards per attempt and the fifth-highest opposing quarterback rating in 2021, the Commanders could install Gardner as a complement on the opposite side. It’s also tempting to draft a receiver such as Treylon Burks or Chris Olave. Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean could be the answer in the middle, but taking him here would be a reach when he’s slotted between 25 and 35. — Taylor

Definitely wouldn’t be mad about this pick

Nakobe Dean = Jamin Davis imo

I think we need a day 1 impact player at 11. Unless a LB is a true stud, I think it takes a few years for a college MLB to be up to speed as an NFL MLB. Edge/rushing LB can play right away but MLB, as weve seen w Davis, is a whole nother league.

Dean did start more games in college but im tepid on going MLB round 1 unless hes a stud.

He reminds me of a more athletic London Fletcher and he is also a leader like London was. I think he would have a Day 1 impact on us.

But I could see not wanting him at 11. Also, would be weird to go LB back to back in round 1. But Dean is a stud imo.

Ive read a few scouting reports on him. Seems like a smaller but more experienced Jamin. Fluid, can go btw tackles or outside, primarily covered backs and in man exclusively, solid tackler, Dick Butkus winner.

Id prefer Devin Lloyd at 11 if we go LB but I dont follow college ball that hard so i just parrot what I hear really

---------------

Skins have a trend going.

2017 - drafted DL first round
2018 - DL first round
2019 - DE first round
2020 - DE first round
2021 - LB first round
2022 - ???????

I like Lloyd too. I would be happy with either one of them. Hell, I guess it's a lock that we pick one now lol. Hopefully they get the right guy.

I say they buck the trend and select an offensive lineman, wide receiver, or trade back - and still select an offensive lineman or wide receiver.

Re: Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread

I am warming to the idea of cornerback in the first, looking at the cap position it may be wise forward thinking with regards to the amount of money our 2 CBs are making next year that would allow them to move on from one or both

Re: Official 2022 NFL Draft Thread

Was reading this article about the Adams trade and it looks at team draft capital for the draft:

https://www.acmepackingcompany.com/2...te-adams-trade

The capital is determined using this reference which focuses on cost and expected performance: https://overthecap.com/draft-trade-value-chart/

Commanders currently sitting at 29th in draft capital
