Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

I guess I'm the only one looking at the negative about RGIII and everyone else is oblivious cause I keep posting these things and when I post them people blow it off.

Robert Griffin III, Baylor, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

Quote:
Reading Defenses: Sees the entire field and works through his progressions, manipulating the pocket and keeping his eyes downfield. Holds the ball too long and needs to improve his pocket awareness, abandoning his reads too easily. Streaky internal clock and looks to get outside of the pocket too soon. Has questionable vision as a passer, staring down defenders and making puzzling decisions at times. Still makes too many mental mistakes and needs to polish the mental aspect of his game. Forces throws and doesn?t look off defenders ? throws across his body too much and doesn?t anticipate defenders as well as he needs to yet. Needs to develop better pre-snap awareness to see the blitz and recognize what the defense is doing.
Robert Griffin, QB, Baylor Scouting Report - 2012 NFL Draft Prospect

Quote:
That said, there are a lot of occasions where he bails out too quickly, takes his eyes off his receivers and runs. NFL coaches are really going to want him to keep his eyes downfield, even when scrambling in order to extend the play.
Quote:
Griffin will need to continue his ability to read defenses, check out of bad plays, and roll through his progressions. He is a very talented quarterback with some very high upside, but he has to develop and better understand the game. Griffin could be selected as high as No. 2 as the demand for an elite quarterback is at an all-time high.
I love baffling people with BS, it's so much fun.

redskins have committed to running the ball 8 out of 9 times this season. he's going to be a big part of our wishbone option offense, he better be tough. vicky gets hurt, why wouldn't rg3?

People are talking as if RGIII is a walking Torn ACL waiting to happen.

I wouldn't say that but I think it's fair to say that he'll have a season or two within his first 8 seasons where he will miss a fair chunk of time. Which is where drafting a QB late and developing him would finally come into play.

Jordan Jefferson? Or the Miami QB (name eludes me).

Jordan Jefferson? Hell no and it's Jacory Harris. RGIII and say Kellen Moore or whomever the vet backup QB is will be fine.

i was always intimidated by teams who never passed the ball. 4 guys in the backfield running it down your throats. river hill was not that kind of team

Well, he has torn it once (or twice I forget) and he is pretty skinny, with long legs, so he definitely could tear it trying to cut on someone (much like Dennis Dixon a few years ago.)

To be fair.. That's exactly what he his, but he's too talented for it to play a part in drafting him.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

220lbs is soo skinny. Dejuan Blair of the Spurs doesn't have any ACLs. He could tear it falling out of bed and he tore it once.

By that logic everyone in the NFL is a torn ACL waiting to happen.

You can find negatives on anyone. I don't think anyone is denying that he has things to work on... just like any rookie.

It just seems you go out of your way to be critical of RGIII, but I don't see where you're nearly as critical of other players.

How about humoring us for a bit... tell us what you like about RGIII

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

Having torn my acl, he has no greater chance of tearing it again. Look how he bounced back! This is football, almost everyone is at risk of injury, that doesnt even make me think about not taking RG3.
