I need to check our Black Flag, Hysteria and Ellicott Mills. Olde Mother had a really nice BA sour that I had a few weeks ago. Outstanding, expensive at like $16 plus for bottle but worth it. |

Re: Let's talk good beer
The beer I liked the best in my travels was Rattlesnake IPA at the Big Texan Brewery which is part of the Big Texan Steak House in Amarillo, Texas. I stopped in there 3 times when making multiple trips across the USA when moving from Cali to Virginia 8 years ago. Looks like their brewery just opened when I first stopped in. Unfortunately they weren't canning or bottling it so no take outs.

Re: Let's talk good beer
If you can ever get up there, it's a freaking GORGEOUS brewery. Beer good and atmosphere is even better:

I bought that Wicked Weed variety stout 4 pack .. I drank 2 ... I had the biggest constant farts like all day. Im sacred to drink the other 2. CBS bombers and 4 packs ($25) on shelves in MD, no limit. I honestly prefer: breakfast stout > KBS > CBS

Live in San Diego. Staying at the Westin in Tucson for vacation. Gas is like $2.50 a gallon and you can get a 6 pack of IPA's at a Circle K for only $9.99. Bought 2 local beers and both are pretty good. I like Arizona.
SanTan Hopshock is a beer I can have on a regular basis.

Re: Let's talk good beer
I was doing some research. I want to brew some Belgium style beers so I grabbed New Belgium's Trippel 8.5% malty, clear with subtle hops. Drank a bottle everyday. First one I tried said it was not for me by the time I got to the third day I began to appreciate it more. If you want to try something outside of a traditional english style beer like an IPA this was pretty good.
Also went back to the first IPA I ever had Dogfish 60 minute. Tasted fantastic. Great hop balance. On a side I know over the last 20 years the craft industry has really pushed the boundary on hops. I would love to taste a 60 minute from 20 years ago to see how the flavor has changed to evolve with the competition. |

Re: Let's talk good beer
Sadly one of the Breweries that I like from up in New England has closed due to the pandemic ,it seems I might not get to make my yearly beer run this fall.
