Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
I know we have said that here a bunch of times, but when was this officially said by a Redskins official?

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Washington post:
Sources close to Brunell said the veteran had been told nothing about a trade being completed, or even close, after the game. This smells like the Atlanta rumor to me.

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
listen guys, and this is as credible of a source that I could find. I simulated a year of Madden 08, and Brunell retires after this season. Therefore why wouldnt you want a draft pick for your number 3 QB, and a guy who is 37!!!
If we get to our number 3 QB we have more to worry about then who it is. How many #3 QBs get a draft for their trade value?

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
wait were not getting a first round pick for brunell?
in all seriousness any draft pick would be a plus, brunell had one decent game against the jags scrubs but other than that he looked helpless |

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
From the article just posted:
"This thing got way blown out of proportion on TV. No trade is imminent and the Skins have to determine if they would even be wanting to move him at all given how the fact they have no other decent options for a third Qb themselves." So yeah... Looks like channel 9 jumped the gun on that one.

Check out JLac's latest chat on the Post website for his take on all this--pretty skeptical.

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
This whole idea is idiotic.
If anyone would be/should be on the trading block it would be Collins...he's the QB who sat out the last game (usually what happens to a player before a trade). Cambell #1 Brunell #2 Collins #3 Deal with it, people.

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Nice way to get some extra picks, but damn Brunell didn't look bad last night and Palmer only got a half of playing time in the whole preseason which is why I said it was a waste to even draft him. I like the move, but it is a dumb setup. Why didn't they give Palmer more time like a lot of us wanted? I mean sure, if we have to rely on Palmer our season probably is toast, but give the team a fighting chance. Doesn't make sense to me why they give him so little playing time if they knew they were going to unload MB.

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
Looks like Brunell might go back to where it all started. I'm sure that would be his first choice. I say we do an even swap. I would love to have Leftwich as a back up and I know he grew up a huge Redskins fan so I’m sure he would like it too if he could stand being a 2nd string QB. I'm sure Leftwich's contract would screw the whole thing up though.
The Jaguars are also trying to acquire a veteran quarterback to serve as a backup and may turn to former Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell. Team and league sources said that former starter Byron Leftwich will likely be traded or released ESPN - Sources: Jags to name Garrard starting QB for '07 - NFL

I know I would love to have Leftwitch as an insurance policy.

Re: Rumor: Brunell heading to Seattle
I believe one of the reasons he may be released is the Jags want to avoid paying his $5.1 million base salary
