He is not a FS) Punter (just kidding) This presupposes that Cerrato is NO longer in charge of drafting. Otherwise, I don’t trade ANY of those guys. What you think? |

Id keep moss, and perhaps package up smauels or somebody else for a pick.. i dunno..I am starting to firmly believe the biggest problem with this franchise is the age and drop off in depth and the only way we will ever get any better is to cut ties with all the high paid, aging players brought in over the past 7 years and aquire drafts and youth that can be molded. I stick with zorn for one more year if he fails, then i get another coach, drop campbell, drop brennan and search for a franchise qb to build around. |

I give Danny Smith, Stan Hixon and Steve Jackson the boot. I politely and respectfully ask Buges if he wants to retire. I think the hope of turning the Salary Cap off is our best chance of turning this thing round sooner rather than later(slim has left town). I sort of agree with most of these moves.

1. I would bring in someone who values building through the draft to run personnel under Vinnie and transition Vinnie into an operational role.
2. I would make sure to retain the remaining draft picks I have for 2009 and look very seriously at bolstering these units: defensive end, offensive tackle, linebacker. 3. I would find a way to bring in one blue chip pass rushing defensive player - either Peppers or Suggs if the price is not astronomical. If the price tag is too high with those guys I'd target a second-tier young DE like Canty or Udeze. 4. I would consider bringing in a young linebacker who could play inside or out. Dansby would be ideal. 5. I would also target a young interior offensive lineman in free agency to provide additional depth. 6. I would offer several veterans the option to renegotiate at a lower annual salary: Griffin, Springs, Washington, Taylor. |

And when Jevon Kearse, the left end, goes down early in the second half, we'll throw a fourth-round pick from Winston-Salem State, William Hayes, in the game, and he'll get a sack of Ben Roethlisberger, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Tennessee 31, Pittsburgh 14. The score is surprising enough, seeing that the Steelers had been playing like the '65 Packers. But it's who the Titans won with. For much of the second half, this was their six-man rotation on the defensive line: William Hayes, Tony Brown, Jason Jones, Dave Ball, Jacob Ford, Amon Gordon. He's not afraid of relying on inexperienced players to get pressure because he knows his secondary can cover. He knew entering Sunday's game that he could get a few pile-pushing rushes from a 305-pound practice player, Gordon, who pressured Roethlisberger into one of his sacks and fumbles. "Roethlisberger was holding the ball so long because of the superb coverage in our back end,'' said Schwartz. "That allowed our front to get to him.'' Winning home-field, Schwartz said, is a nice reward. But he thought it was more important to beat a great team, wherever the game was player and whatever it meant for January football. "Coach Fisher told the team this was all about being battle-tested,'' said Schwartz. "We'd rather play at home, obviously, in January, but it doesn't tilt the field totally in your favor. What helps is knowing how we can play when we come up against a really good team like Pittsburgh.'' You model after this! Good coaching, drafting, a plan in place that starts from the top. Yes, I have just the slightest man crush on Jim Schwartz. He'll be a HC soon. Young, smart, 8 years at Tenn under perhaps the best coach in football. That would make too much sense if we were to hire him. It wouldn't matter as long as VC is around though. |
