yeah i know its not a big issue, everybody does it but you dont see too many articles like the king one about other owners. i think it gives danny a bad rep at the owners meetings having something like this come out so openly (even though king assumes danny was talking about AH). sorry, i thought it was worth discussing given all the dead horses lying around here. go skins!!

Well everyone does it and someone has to "prove" or have evidence that would show tampering. No one knows what they were talking about. Which is why I brought up the fact that perhaps Snyder met with him about a player who will be in the draft and the team is inquiring about how he would feel about coming to the Skins. I think it's presumptious to on Kings part to assume it was about Haynesworth. I doubt any team would have a problem with Snyder talking to an agent asking what money figure Haynesworth is looking forward to in order to see if we could be in the ball park come day 1 of free agency. It's illegal to talk contract and fine details. Haynesworth already said he would test the market so I'm betting a lot of other owner's have made inquiries also just to see what he's asking. Doesn't mean we are going to be a player at all. but....as we all know King is pushing the envelope always to try to fry Snyder. .....and if history repeats itself we all know Snyder will probably try to find a way to get him in. My big question is how will Snyder accomplish this? Who will get let go in order to sign Haynesworth? If we try. Someone mentioned we are 3.3 mill under. We could cut Springs saviing us 6.4 mill. Honestly is that enough for Haynesworth? Call it 6 mill a year? Who else do we let go to sign Hall? Zorn was and has stated he was satisfied with our O-lines production through the first 8 games and believes our down fall was injuries. He has said we need decent back ups. Perhaps with the moves they have made already picking up some O-lineman and perhaps drafting more he feels we will be fine starting next season with a healthy group of guys. I agree we need to get younger on both sides, I'm just throwing out there the possibility Snyder is looking to fix any D-line problems with free agents and go after O-lineman in the draft. |

This may be rumor derived from that mtg. Reminds me of when Samari Rolle's agent said the skins were going to sign him in 05 w/15 mil guaranteed. Didn't happen. |

Re: King predicts Haynesworth to Redskins
This also seems to be some guy in Houston reporting on something that couldn't have been decided yet. Since, you know, the Titans can still sign Albert in the next three days and there's nothing the Redskins can do about it.
I wouldn't dispute the fact that we're seriously interested though.

Re: King predicts Haynesworth to Redskins
this team seems to address one need at a time and overkills it.
- last offseason we wanted a bigger receivers for endzone plays; we get 3 2nd rounders over 6 feet tall. - GW asked for a field general MLB after lemar marshall didnt shine as MLB that year, we got fletcher (which was sweet!) - GW asked for a safety after the season we let up alot of big pass plays; we get arch deluxe. - Gibbs wanted a young qb in the wings to take over for brunnel since he clearly didnt like ramsey in that role (he was pulled after a minor 1st half injury in the 1st game); we trade up to get a god fearing JC - few seasons ago we had old vets like caldwell starting WR; offseason we get ARE and Llyod Does vinny and snyder go to their Off and D coord every offseason and say "put 1 name/need on a piece of paper and ill get if for you" so im guessing blache put dominating pocket collapsing DT, zorn put OL? go skins!!

Re: King predicts Haynesworth to Redskins
We could get Canty for a third of what it would cost to land Haynesworth, and we'd still be able to address other needs through FA.
I also hope this rumor isn't true.

It makes no sence at all. I would rather have Canty, Hall, and a few solid FA's than a $100M. HWorth and thats it. |

Re: King predicts Haynesworth to Redskins
I'm calling BS on Haynesworth. I think the "rumor" is just a power play to increase his leverage with the Titans.
