Smootsmack mentioned something about Orlando Pace. I hope he's not coming here. We with out a doubt we have other needs on are team then a 35 year old lineman with a history of injuries.

I think if Willis falls through and were sitting at 13, but the Big 4 OTs are all gone, I'd rather have Jansen for one more year than anyone else on the market.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

I'm going to start lobbying for this guy if we sign a RT and trade down.

Michael Johnson - 6'6 - 266 lbs - DE - Georgia Tech - 9.0 Sacks in 2008
Plus he's already up to speed on our lines 'technique'. I think the best way to describe him is a poor man Julius Peppers.

Is Khalif Barnes off the market. I dont remember him getting signed anywhere. I think he would be an upgrade at RT and definitely has the upside to be worth a dockery type deal.

I bet they go after Willis being that he's a Seahawk.

Definately worth less then Dockery. Willis on the other hand just makes sense to come here. I mean he knows the system, has the size Bugel likes, can clear running lanes, cost effective.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

It's important to remember that Jansen wasn't THE problem last year, but merely one of the many issues. He'd still be a minor liability next year, but the alternative right now is that we are talking about starting a rookie there, and it's hard to imagine that being a fantastic situation for us.

He wasn't THE problem but he definitely sucked balls.

Does anyone else feel cheated by how this went down? After they signed Hall and Phat Albert I had visions of 55 lining up all over the place and crushing QBs.

I would have felt better if they released him before signing the other guys. I would put the J Taylor aquisition on the Mount Rushmore of stupid moves by the FO. Somewhere near Arc de Suck, Brandon Lloyd (picks and a new contract), TJ Duckett, Portis (2nd rounder and Champ) and Brunell (Picks and huge deal for a player getting cut).

They better sign Crowell, an O-lineman, a punter, Campbell, Evans and or Daniels. We also need Monty and Golston back too.

Re: Jason Taylor Released

Apparently someone from Wikipedia can see the future and has him going to the Steelers on Saturday (I'm guessing this will be corrected soon)

Jason Paul Taylor (born September 1, 1974 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) is an American football defensive end who is currently a free agent. He was originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft. He played college football at Akron.

Taylor has also played for the Washington Redskins in 2008 and signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 7th, 2009 to a 1 year/$5 million dollars.

^That's funny as hell! I def feel more moves coming. That was a lot of money going to an unproductive player.

Great choice my friend, If we trade down in the 20's this guy is a great value ..... Pick up a RT in FA.....-Add 2nd round OT Jamon Meredith for the future.....

Maybe it meant to read March 2....and he is soon to be a Steeler...?
