Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
Agree with much of what you say there Pain.
Blache's impassioned speech the other night almost seems now like it was as much about telling VC and Snyder "put it on me. I'll take over this team for the second half of the season."

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
I just don't get though why we didn't hire shanahan as an "offensive consultant" all he would have to do is look over zorns shoulder on the sidelines, and he would already have a head start knowing who to keep and getting used to the players. This way its guranteed that we win the shanahan sweepstakes.

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
I think its simple. He is here to help but also evaluate Zorn. I am sure he will report back to DS and let him know if it is more about the players we have, the play calling, the preparation in pratices, skill position coaches, etc.
Then DS will know if Zorn has what it takes and if other factors are contributing to them not being a potent offense. But I don't think it's good news for Zorn either way.

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
Bruce Allen on Sirius NFL Radio on bringing in consultants:
-He's done if before with Marv Levy, Bill Walsh, Deacon Jones, etc. -Effectiveness depends on the consultant, he's not familiar with Sherman Lewis personally -It's better to add than to subtract (fire) -He didn't express a strong position either way but he said he doesn't understand the early changes in coordinators or firing a coach this early.

To me, it doesn't speak well if the front office isn't confident enough in Zorn to fix the offense if they have to bring in somebody from the outside to help. |

This is hilarious. I feel like we're in the offseason with all these ridiculous assumptions.
