Go spend your money elsewhere then. Playing NFL football is high risk and not as much as reward as people believe. And it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Its clear a lot of people here don't think of these guys as human beings but just as pawns to entertain them.

Yes sir! That's the most important thing. While the process may be lengthier and more painful than we wish, the question of losing real games or even the season is now history.

I recognize the NFL players as human beings and I hope that they come back to the league, but if they are adamant about not playing this season, then let the owners use replacement players.

The sad thing is alot of these pro players have no education or any kind of practical skills outside of playing football. If they dont play, it's very sad but they will most likely be broke within a year or two...that is truly a sad thing.

Sorry to pick on you but this the classic uninformed and illogical mentality that exists.

When did the players EVER say they didn't want to play? Remember, they were locked out and the league could have ended the lockout at a moment's notice if they chose to.

Secondly, the owners are not allowed to use replacement players because, again, THEY initiated this work stoppage.

Finally, of all of the major (and minor) sports, football players are the most educated with all of them attending at least 3 years of post high school education. No other sport comes close to that. Most players turn into viable and productive members of society after their playing days are done.

I'm so glad football will be back next week so we can be rid of these inane conversations.

The perception might be due to a large contingent of football players being in a financial mess soon after retirement. That said, lack of money skills does not necessarily mean lack of other skills that can land them jobs better than the burger joint. They certainly have the capital to pursue various business ventures. The matter is where to pursue the venture, and that is where pro football players trip due to folks who want to nab their money.

Relax, there's going to be football and it's definitely not going to involve scabs. The NFL will probably never go that route again.

I think the NFL has pretty much hit it's ceiling for revenue or damn near close. You need only look at the economy to understand this. Wages aren't getting any higher but inflation is/has rising steadily. It comes down to a max you'll be able to squeeze out of companies for advertising.
