Cult gets props for that one. Also LOL at SBVII for (in laments terms) declaring there's no way that would happen. Niiice.

Re: 2011 NFL Season: Bold Predictions Thread

Now that I've started I can't stop lol. Let's see who had some good bold predictions. I'll start at the top.

Mine are as follows:

-The Lions win 11 games (not just saying that b/c of last night- I've thought for a while that if Stafford stays healthy that they can be damn good). I know their bandwagon is getting full, but I think they can challenge Green Bay for their division.

-The Giants will finish last in the NFC East

-The Jets will miss the playoffs.
Not a bad start. Verrrry close on the first one, Lions went 10-6 which I think would still have been a bold prediction before the season started. The 2nd was a huge miss though. And the third was true. Not a bad start.

The Lions making the playoffs - bold. I will also second that prediction.
The Bengals winning one game - not bold, because everyone would agree with that or something similar, like winning between 1-3 games.
The Skins having a top 15 defense? Not bold, I think based upon what we've seen this preseason we're definitely capable of that.
The Skins having a top 5 defense? Bold. Also note I'm using that as an example, because I don't believe that'll happen this year lol.

I'll go out on a limb.
John Beck will have a season equal to Mark Brunell's 2005 season, where he threw for 3000 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 10 picks.
Ryan Kerrigan and Brian Orakpo will be the first pair of Redskins bookend linebackers to both make the Pro Bowl the same year.
Here's another bold one: Ryan Kerrigan = DROY.

I feel like the "Bold" part still needs to be emphasized. Another example just to give an idea:

Bold prediction: Aceinthehouse predicting we will go 14-2 last year.

Not bold: Santana Moss will have 80 catches. (Sorry Jontrem)
Side note: LOL at my bold predictions. Horrible.

  3. Jets manage 10 wins and lose in the first round.
  4. Lions win 10 games and earn a playoff spot.
  5. Chiefs win 10 games and earn a playoff spot.
  6. Chargers win 13 games and clinch AFC top spot.
  7. Falcons win 13 games and clinch NFC top spot.
  8. Eagles lose in the first round of playoffs.
  9. Colts miss the playoffs.
  10. Cowboys finish last in the NFC East.
Saden with a couple there. Although a bolder prediction would've been: Colts suck hard without Manning for entire season, eliminated from playoff contention by week 10, and clinch first pick in draft.

I'll try to see more in a few. S/N: A lot of people made the same bold prediction, i.e. Colts miss playoffs, Texans win AFCS, Jets miss playoffs, Lions go 10-6.

Bold Prediction - Eli Manning will throw 4 picks, and the Redskins will score over 40 points in a rout of the G-Strings.

Giants are in for a longo seasono. They will be the basement dwellars in the East, and will only win 5 games at best. Mwahahahaha!!!!!!! Eli will also throw over 25 picks, and only 19 touchdowns.lol. I know, the last one not too bold, but what can ya do?
You were just dead on on the last one.

Eh. Who really expected them to put everything together and make the playoffs this year? I felt it was doable if Stafford stayed healthy, which he did for the most part. But that is true, the Lions were a popular sleeper pick for the playoffs this year.

Well, officially, anyway.

Oh, but that last prediction.
