Re: Ravens V Redskins - Beltway Brawl or Maryland Massacre?

I have admired KS's work for some time - No, he's not wunderkind, but he clearly "gets it". The part I particularly liked in the article was the emphasis on his "command" of the offensive team. You look at the guy and think "Man, he's just a kid ... what vet coach is really going to respect him." or "Sure, players like him 'cause he's practically in their peer group - but, do they respect him when he calls them out ... or is it just seen as a temper tantrum."

I heard somewhere that one of Morris' downfalls as a head coach was that he was the players' pal as an assistant/position coach and that, when he became head coach, players weren't receptive to the sterner/bottom-line mentality that you have to have as the ultimate authority. I worry that, if KS were to become HC here, there may be that effect. Not sure though.

Ultimately, I think KS is going to make somebody a helluva head coach. It might be another 5-10 years, but he will win a SB as a HC.

It IS a difficult transition to be promoted and supervise the group you once worked with......
But as you say......somewhere

Pretty sure he is not going to be able to play.

He also appears to be getting into some hot water elsewhere.

EDIT: I know they are calling him a game time decision- but from what I've heard it's pretty unlikely that he will paly.

I hope he takes over from Mike. I think the Redskins would be set for a few decades that way.

I would be shocked if Suggs didn't paly, but then again, I think everyone ought to try it once in a while

Me too, I got the feeling that this is the plan Snyder and FO have already made. By the way great articles, SS.

I think Suggs will play. He sounded pretty confident.

JLC just said he's listed as questionable and thinks he'll play.

Ravens 23rd in the NFL allowing 126 yards a game, Washington first with 167 yards a game, Redskins should obviously keep that ball by running the ball throughout the entire game. Similar to what the Giants did to us the first half. I am hoping to see some 8 minute drives.

Re: Ravens V Redskins - Beltway Brawl or Maryland Massacre?

All my Ravens fans friends seem 100% convinced that Suggs will play. Notably, a few are worried about it -- that he may play and kill himself trying to catch RGIII. But I bet he does play -- with Big ben coming back this week for the Steelers, the Ravens will feel added pressure to bring their A game this week to keep on track.

I think they're crazy to play him. Even when Lewis comes back, he won't be 100%. So they will need Suggs if they're going to make a deep run in the post-season. With another week's rest, that seems more likely.

But if he plays, he plays, and I would rather he does so that there will be no bitching about injuries changing the outcome when we FedExterminate them.

Suggs said they have a saying around there,"If you're breathing you can play." How well is another question. He definitely won't be 100%.
