Help me out with something. I do not get to watch all Washington games where I am, but when I do get the chance, I watch.

What I did notice was when the opposing team scores first, or has an early lead, the Washington offense tends to go to the air no matter what quarter.

I get this if you are down by two scores in the 4th quarter. But it looks like they abandon the run way too early.

Other than that Saints game, 'Skins were within one score all the way up to the end. But somehow in those losses AD has 12 or fewer attempts.

But in the wins, AD has 20 or more attempts. Is it me? Or does it seem like game plans are getting pushed aside too early? Not being critical, just curious.

We can't come back on anyone, it doesn't matter who it is, if they score first we lose. So yes we have to get on the board first every game to have a chance

If he could get away with it, Gruden would throw it every down. He has gave platitudes about running the ball for 5 seasons now. When we trail, that's his free pass to become Chucky Chuckerson.

I have to disagree with you. Jay Gruden is predicable as a O-coordinator. He runs on first down almost every set of downs! Watch him! That's one of the reasons our running game has turned lame - it's very predictable.

As far a QB - the best teams in the league have the best QB. Our problem as a franchise since Dan Snyder took over (besides the fact that he's a terrible owner) is that we have gone through over 20 QB in that time. We've never had a top QB, except for Kirk Cousins and RG3 (in his first season ONLY)! The NFL is a QB-centric league. We can talk about needs in every position but until we get a franchise QB we are treading water. We can't recruit a veteran QB because we have all our money locked into the AS deal. Thank Bruce Allen for that move.

Whether we draft a QB in the first or second round the QB position is our biggest hole and we must strive for a franchise QB in the draft. We need to do whatever it takes to get the best QB in the draft. Everything else is rubbish.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft

The 2019 draft has 3 possible high 1st round QBs.

Grier WVU
Herbert Oregon
Hankins Ohio State (rumor is he is coming out)

Right now the Redskins have between the #18 and #23 pick And the draft has several good DL, so one might slip..... getting a QB in 2019 could be possible without mortgaging the farm.

I'm not sure any of those guys are worthy of being drafted in the 1st round. Maybe 2nd to 4th rounders.

Yeah, I wouldn't want any of those guys in the 1st and probably not at all.

Grier is a 1st round grade but we would have to trade up unless we lose out..

If we don't love a QB this draft then this would be a great year to move out the first round and see if we can pick up an additional first rounder the following year.

Worthy? Mock drafts have Herbert in the top 5 picks. Haskins in the top 10.
I like Grier, he is athletic, has a strong arm... downside he is small...6'1"

QBs are so important, they tend to go high, it is very unlikely any of them slip to the 2nd to 4th round

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft

Please no Will Grier. Haskins is a top 10 candidate now? I'd have to watch more film of him. Herbert is so overrated to me. But he'll be long gone by the time we pick anyways.

Give me a WR1/CB1/OLB in the 1st and Ryan Finley in the 2nd.

I'll take a guy like Drew Lock in the first round. I love that kid's arm talent. The problem is he's always in the shotgun.

Who was the kid that just blew his knee out? I'd say his career is over. It made Smith's injury look like a sprained ankle.

Have watched film on all 3. Grier is the best right now but Herbert has big upside

Milton from UCF, he was as good of a passer as it gets this yr too. Hope he can come back from that but it was nasty.
