Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
I just listened to Jay Gruden's Wednesday press conference...he was asked about Mason Foster's tweets about trashing the organization and the Redskins fans....he simply excused the player for his transgressions....
That's the problem with this team and coach....players are not accountable! He doesn't care that a player trashed the team and fans because it was a private conversation? Get a clue Jay you are part of the dysfunction and culture that needs to change!

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
Hindsight is 20-20, but what if Gruden has been fired last year and we promoted McVay to HC?

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
Foster would already be off the team if I was in charge.

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
Him and DJ Swearinger would both be gone if it was any other team in the NFL.
It seems like the guys with the biggest bark on social media / etc. have been the shittiest players for us this season. Both guys should really just STFU and let their play do the talking. I'm not upset that they are upset about our trash organization. But i do believe there is a right way to handle it / privately address it with coaches / etc. Social media is not the right way, IMO.

That’s what I meant! Just seeing if everyone was paying attention.

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
Well let's see.
Option A. DS has learned wisdom and perspective through the years, and is sticking to his old promise not to fire anyone during the season. Option B. DS has learned nothing, and thinks injuries are an acceptable reason for this raging dumpster fire. Option C. DS is waiting to fire Gruden/co. but is still soliciting BA's opinion out of reverence for his father. Option D. DS is bound and gagged in his basement (and hasn't watched since we were 6-3) and Allen is calling all the shots now. Option E. DS is still stupid and is waiting until after the season to fire BA (when there's really no good reason to wait, let's get a head start on everybody else and let the new GM figure out whether to fire Gruden/co. at the end of the season). Option F. DS is determined to find a new GM before he fires Allen, and the ball rolls from there. |

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
Snyder doesn’t like the reputation of an owner with an itchy trigger finger.

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
I get that with the coaches, but i view this giants debacle much like when cerrato was let go. Very similar circumstances and with the dwindling atadium crowds, i doubt firing Allen or even just moving Smith up and re positioning BA in the organization would be seen as a smart move. Heck GB AND Minnesota fired people already this season so he wouldnt be alone in the in season actions.

Re: Should Gruden be fired ?
This may get the post of the year award.
In all seriousness, though, I hope it is because he's figuring out who the GM should be and that the GM will be intimately involved in the coaching search and decision. I will say this, though -- if there isn't a major change in the offseason (barring some miraculous win streak now), the fan base will leave in droves. I assume that the folks on the Warpath are among the most loyal, and comments in the last few weeks reflect extraordinary disaffection.

I think Snyder needs to find a competent GM and let him make the decisions, alone. We don't need another "Team President" or "VP of Player Personnel." And we don't need this "Decision by Committee" crap we have going on now. We need a SINGULAR GM who is going to be in charge and call the shots the way HE sees fit. Of course, this only works if you have the right guy put in place. (Please, Please, Please don't put Doug Williams into this role.) Set up a clear chain of command and let the people do their job. Look what Dorsey has done in Cleveland. If Snyder goes on to hire another Business Exec to "Team up" with what we already have in place, it's going to be more of the same. Vinny Cerato, Bruce Allen.... who's next in this lineage of failure??
