Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I wonder if this means we are more likely to pick Downs at 7 if he's available than an edge. I would tend to think so. LB still a possibility too, but edge seems a little less likely.
And I hope this doesn't mean Hendrickson goes somewhere else in our division.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Tua to the Falcons. Honestly, putting aside that he should retire given his scary injury history, playing on turf seems like needless added risk.

I still think they prioritize edge over those 3 though, even now. But shoring up edge, where we really could use two is a HUGE relief. If only this was done last year when the world was shouting for it. It now put in the possibility of a wr in the draft too, but I don't see where WR ends up being bpa at #7

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I see that we signed Tim Settle. Welcome back, Tim. With the exception of Tress Way and the subpar stadium, you will recognize nothing and no one.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Really surprising about fall Tua has taken. Just a couple of years ago that offense was just killing people. Now he was flat out released and being replaced by a career backup.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
We signed former player DT Tim Settle to a 3 year, $24 million deal, that can go up ton$25.5 million.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
Me too. Always liked Settle. Good rotation piece for us for sure.
Settle, Wise, Armstrong, Oweh, Kinlaw, Newton, and prospects like Drake Jackson and Shy Tuttle -- will be interesting.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I never heard of this guy from the Chargers but I like Oweh as a need. It's an overpay but I don't care. You have got to do something and you now got a couple of guys to help out on defense to go along with Settle and the corner from the Lions.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
So far Newton has been a big old nothing burger. Peters has really stunk with a few of his 2nd rounders in Newton and Sinnott. Really hoping Sinnott gets an opportunity to be our #1 TE this year. I think all he needs is a chance. He was a truck at K State.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I so wonder whether changing up our defensive scheme, and (presumably) getting guys that are better suited to that scheme, will allow us to get more out of some guys that have under-performed (and I would include the 2025 version of Sainristil on that list along with Newton, Kinlaw, and the 2025 version of Luvu).

25mil/yr is going to get you an average DE in today's market. Your top guys will be hitting 40+ a year now. He's still only 27 so definitely in his prime.
