Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Sure why not? I didn't really like him in college and honestly don't ever see him as a franchise QB but serviceable. I still want Manning next year

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Yes, but not at anywhere near the inflated value they drafted him at. I would consider giving them a #2 pick for him assuming we have not already landed a QB of the future some other way.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Yea....in a sense that he would compete for a starting spot vs Tannehill or whoever.....I'm not sold that Ponder is a solution to our problems but I'd rather have him in the stable than Grossman.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
I wouldn't give up a 2nd for Ponder. Third yes. Nothing higher.
Frankly, I hope that both Cleveland and Minnesota are deeply, deeply committed to their young QB's. I doubt it - but I can hope.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Just heard on 980AM that the Panthers are "on the verge" of simply releasing Jimmy Clausen. Wow.

I'm not a big fan but picking him up for nothing seems like a no-brainer

I wouldn't write him off just yet, he's only entering his 3rd year, he's worth a look

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
He ended the season 3rd on their depth chart and he's due a $920K roster bonus in a few weeks. So.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Told you Clausen was going to be available.
That said, Derek Anderson is a FA and it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that the Panthers let both go and bring back Clausen at a lower price. But I doubt that happens. I thin Clausen is on another roster next year. Most speculate it would be the Broncos because of the John Fox connection

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Two reasons: One, he kinda looks like him, two I have this habit of fusing peoples names together. Ryan Clark, Clark Kent, Ryan Tannehill. Ergo Ryan "Clark Kent" Tannehill.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
I think I would like to have Clausen as one of our 3 QB's next year. Still young and has not had much of an opportunity yet.

Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
DeAngelo Williams was hurt most of the year as well as J. Stewart andSteve Smith missed a couple of games. Add that to the fact that the OL didn't block well, and neither Olsen nor Shockey were on the team at the time of his rookie year. Not sure I would blame his "development" soley on Jimmy Clausen.
They didn't win only 2 games because JC played poorly.
