Re: Obama Care
Obama care hit a little bump in the road. If this holds up Obama care is done because it will not work unless everyone is forced into the system.

The entire healthcare ruling will now come down to Justice Anthony Kennedy. Even then, I doubt the entire law will be struck down. Basically, even if they strip out the individ. mandate, that's what Obama campaigned on all along. |

Re: Obama Care
I don't know the man but reading the article and knowing how the legal systems work it sounds as though it was shot down because the state of Virginia has no legal standing on the issue which is why it never got to the constitutionality part.
I'd bet if a common citizen filed the claim it would have passed to the second issue.... constitutionality. |

Re: Obama Care
Just a guess but I would also bet the state of VA gets some sort of class action suit filed by several or hundreds of citizens in order to force the issue.

Re: Obama Care
I'll agree with you in regards to "in the state", however not the biggest to hold a public office, clearly that goes to whom ever allowed the stupid bill to get passed in the first place.

I would say you can replace VA AG Kenneth Cuccinelli with POTUS Barrack Obama and state with country.... Im not really a fan of Cuccinelli but i am adamantly against Obamacare and highly respect him on his efforts. 2 of the 3 judges were appointed by Obama and the third was appointed by Clinton. This was the expected verdict, however; still a blow to getting this thing dismantled asap. Everyone expects this issue to go to the Supreme Court and like SBXVII this ruling doesn’t sound like it was based on the constitutionality of the law, rather VA's right to challenge it (although I have no understanding on how to interpret this stuff).

Re: Obama Care
im pretty happy with the free maryland state health care my pregnant lady is getting so far.
she got a call the other day from a program called "mommy and me" in which they offer pregnant women on the state plan a $10 gift certificate to walmart, target etc for every ob/gyn dental or flu vaccine visit they make. my lady was first kinda taken aback by the idea, then the lady explained that they needed to give pregnant women incentive to make their appointments and it sounded like it didnt really apply to her. we signed up for target. hatte away but this is the fisrt govt assistance anything either of us have ever gotten and we have both paid plenty of taxes over the years . . .

Re: Obama Care
I love Rick Perry's response in the debate last night on the issue of health care and why the state of Texas has the highest rate of uninsured Americans in the entire freakin country at 27.2%. That's an awful number by the way.
This moron actually blamed the Federal government for that sickening statistic. Medicare covers 2.3 million Texans. Medicaid covers 3.3 million Texans. If you take away federal programs Texas would have a 40% uninsured population! What the heck does the Republican party plan to do? For anyone? It's a joke.
