I really hope that what Jason La Confora is saying about Vinny tied to Clausen isn't true, because I could see Snyder listening to him even though he's not our GM anymore and the fact that DS is supposedly letting the FO take care off personnel decisions.
DS isn't putting in the pick. As much as he might have loved Vinny the bigger mancrush is on Shanahan and Allen, respectively.
JLC hates Snyder and Vinny, in spite of the rumor that apparently Snyder recommended JLC for the job he currently holds on NFLN. Even if Vinny does have the slightest bit of influence it is basically rendered moot by Shanahan and Allen. This is just JLC finding a way to bash Snyder and Vinny for no good reason, which is sad because theres so many good reasons. Basically at this point he's just making stuff up.
Of course Snyder recommended him, it got JLC off of his ass here in Washington ;)

idk but on one of the highlight reels for Chris Johnson, Mawae and another lineman are still looking for blocks downfield about 30 yards past the LOS

iirc they're breaking it up into 10yrd segments as well, though I don't think that they announce those.. that first 10 is a good sign

Re: 2010 Combine

This is why the combine is evil. Guys stock goes up due to virtually irrelevant numbers. Film will show you how well a guy kick steps and keeps his balance. In fact the combine should be compared to a field sobriety test. If you can pass it then you can go on your merry way.

Thats the part I keep hearing but the funny thing is he takes JLC away from Washington and gives him a national stage. I mean it's not like he was really hanging around Redskin Park looking for stories. He just does the same stuff he's been doing the past few years. Taking small details and blowing them out of proportion.

Fortunately I think Marty "cock-blocked" Vinny for life. I mean not only do the fans already hate him but now they know that Vinny will try to tempt Dan in the press box....er something to that effect. "Pssst, Come on Dan, can't you see what they're trying to do. They wasted an early round pick on a lineman when clearly we needed a corner and tight end. Put me back in charge, I'll fix things. Even sign you a brand new $100 million free agent."

Yeah but he's diluted to talking about all of the teams now.

A better drill for the OL is the high jump, given all the "jump blocks" which occur in the NFL.

j/k
27, ran a 5.2 forty

Capers ran a 5.0 forty (I think)

Trindon Holliday 4.23 forty

wasn't 4.23 his goal, to beat Johnson by a hundredth? he ran a 4.34

Redskins met with Montario Hardesty

Someone asked Bradford if he'd have a problem playing for the Redskins since he's part Native American. He said no

Re: 2010 Combine

Anthony Davis and Trent Williams are not impressing the scouts. Particularly Davis. All the concerns about him-well basically that he's lazy-are creeping up.

Hey SS,

Any word on Okung? Also, I saw Bruce Campbell being interviewed by the NFLN, I heard that he had one of the fastest 40 for OL, what's the word on him among scouts?

SmootSmack 02-27-2010 08:37 PM

Re: 2010 Combine

Scouts love Campbell's upside and his naturally freakish abilities but they're trying not to get caught up in all that and realize he has a long way to go as an actual Tackle

Okung is pretty much the clear cut #1

Bulaga is impressing as well

GTripp0012 02-27-2010 08:40 PM

Re: 2010 Combine

So it's still essentially Okung, Davis, Bulaga at the top, but possibly in a different order (according to consensus).

If we consider Alridge to be our change-of-pace back, Hardesty could be an excellent addition to our backfield. He might add some spark as a between-the-tackles runner and pass catcher.

Just found out myself that he's 20 years old.
