I'm sure this won't happen, but next year the league should mandate the vaccine and just not test anymore. Anyone who refuses to get vaccinated is out for the year.

many may not agree w/ me but enough w/ all this testing and making players sit out if positive. do they sit people that have the flu?

The only other option is a vaccine mandate. It is also the more fair option. Most players are vaccinated and should not be subject to any of this. They happen to catch it and become symptomatic than they play when they are physically able like any other ailment.

The vac does not stop you from getting or giving covid. The number don't lie. The onl thing the vac does is protect the individuals health and that should be their choice.

Just not true and the numbers show the exact opposite.


The numbers show it helps to keep people asymptomatic. And when you are asymptomatic you are not coughing, sneezing, etc. In other words it helps prevent the spread.

It also does lower your chance of getting it and giving it. Here is a good article with a shitload of statistics.

If you are going to say otherwise and that the numbers do not lie I would like to see your sources.

Well aware of that. It is 470 people. Mass is a heavily vaccinated state, so it is not like unvaxxed people were spared - just that any group of 500 people will be mostly vaccinated in Mass. I will say the jj shot is less effective, not sure what they had. I am sure you will not find many cases like this.

Hey man there are exceptions to every rule, flip-sides to every coin, and no vaccinations are full proof, BUT, forgetting these 500 people- there are hundreds of millions throughout the world that show the exact opposite. It is just a numbers game. The overall and ongoing studies and numbers show a vastly different story than this incident in Mass does.

Also this was back in june or july I believe which is why they now recommend the booster. Which im sure would have reduced that number by quite a bit.

And the current toll of Covid deaths is likely to be substantially higher than 800,000 right now, with one MILLION dead is likely within reach for the US. Sadly we could have avoided many of those deaths with better compliance on masking and vaccination. What a tragedy!

Yes it is. Not just in this country but the entire world. Extremely sad. It is the age of information wars, and misinformation though SC. Dangerous enemy as we see with so many dying because of it.

The CDC estimated that more than 80,000 died of the flu in the 2017-2018 winter. It kills too, so why not push for a flu shot mandate?

Oh im not opposed to it at all. Anything that keeps people healthy im down with. I thought you were being sarcastic like “oh might as well mandate everything.” But if you were serious than that is different. But i guess when it boils down to it 800,000 trumps 80,000. It was actually 60,000. Still too many people obviously.

That article is not supporting the argument you think it does. With vaccine at 80% efficacy at the time and the population of Provincetown in the summer (ask Chico or Sunnyside about Bear Week, both of them know tons of info on odd things) 470 cases actually is low. In addition the article ends by saying there have been only 5,166 cases out of 4.3 million vaccinated for a rate of 0.1% which is far below the state average.
