He isnt a slouch, he started all 16 games with the Lions last year. Must have that old man strength.

Brown is a solid lineman and can help this team if needed. I think 19 years in the NFL says it all. This franchise should have never let him go to SF. Besides, give us 40+ men a break!!!!!
What ever happened to Tre Johnson?
Kinda miss the guy. He was very entertaining. |
Hogskin:
If Jansen is put on IR so he can be replaced on the roster, then he can't play in the playoffs even if the Skins get there and he is as healthy as a horse. ...
A player can be activated after the regular season from IR. |
I'll take a 41 year old Ray Brown over Tre Johnson anyday.
Tre had the potential to be one of the better guards in the league, the guy just couldn't stay healthy to save his life. Still one of my favorite players though. |

I think that happened back when the Steelers went to the SB against the Cowboys, and Rod Woodson who tore up his knee earlier in the year returned to play in the SB. |
Tre would be awesome as the left guard (if he could stay healthy). He was always an excellent pulling guard. He'd put new meaning into the 'counter tre'. :D

hey what happened to brandon whiney? he did well last year playing for samuels and no one mentioned him. i think he hurt somethign, anyone know anything about him?
|
Hey SnC, Brandon Winey is here, though not healthy with an ankle injury (been out all of August so far), but could be in the mix of things once he gets healthy. Though it was hard to discern last year, I think he did a pretty good job for us as a rook.

he did better than samuels last year. perhaps that was becuase our blocking schemes changed at the end of the year, be regardless he held his own. In the end, bugel will turn one of these guys into a star.
|
i think he was drafted the year i was born

Discriminating against old people is against federal law. Federal Law people!!! Let’s just wait and see what grandpa can do. Hopefully he won't break a hip or have a heart attack.

I would rather have Ray Brown start over fatso Kenyatta Jones as our season opening RT. Our QB's are in for a long season if Kenyatta Jones is our RT.
I lived in Boston when the Patriots drafted Kenyatta Jones and during the years he played there. Kenyatta is better suited for guard rather than Tackle. He is too slow to pass block the good speed rushers in this league. He was quickly demoted in New England because of his poor pass blocking at Tackle. Unless Kenyatta Jones' has greatly improved his conditioning (I don't see how, he still looks fat), I think Brandon Winey, Ray Brown, Daryl Terrel, Pita Elisara or someone not yet on our roster will be the starter come season opener. I do not have great confidence in Kenyatta as our blind side Tackle. |
Brown has always been a guard. My gues sis that they got Brown to play guard, and they might move Dockery to tackle. Not sure if I like that, you typically want someone faster to play tackle, expecially in Gibbs counter trey offense where players move around a lot.

Actually Ray Brown played a couple of flawless games at Tackle for the Redskins when we had a string of injuries several years ago. I do not remeber what year it was, but at 6'-5" and 312 pounds he is quicker and better built for tackle than freaking fat squatty Kenyatta Jones. |
