Re: Skins Signed Randle El
So, ESPN took it down. Then, they put it back and added a small paragraph to the end...I don't know what to believe.
Redskins | Randle El agrees to contract Sun, 12 Mar 2006 12:57:23 -0800 ESPN.com reports free agent WR Antwaan Randle El has agreed to a six-year contract with the Washington Redskins, according to a source close to ESPN.com's Michael Smith. From KFFL |

Just keep your fingers crossed!

Re: Skins Signed Randle El
ESPN ticker still posting Randle-El is a skin.

Re: Skins Signed Randle El
Any teams interested in trading for Jacobs?
Any teams interested in trading for Jacobs?
Not a chance. No one will trade for one of our leftovers after this deal. That is probably why San Francisco traded Lloyd before they signed anyone, to help keep some value in him. |
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
Its also on the radio out here on the left coast on KMBR. It also said that Carter is a Skin and that the 49ers lost two free agents along with Lloyd! Sorry that is KHTK not KMBR!

This guy would be the Lepper of free agent wide outs. |

Agreed. It looks like it was started with a Fisher Price my first forum set. |
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
Only thing that slightly worries me is that both moss and randle el are short, fast guys, I hope we don't get too 1-D.

No I mean with passing, they are deep threats, etc....1-D in our passing game

Cooley isn't afraid of going over the middle. And to be honest as long as someone is running a route underneath, teams will respect it because these guys are a juke away from a TD, every time. :food-smil |

Re: Skins Signed Randle El
The Redskins also acquired receiver Brandon Lloyd in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night. With the additions of Randle El and Lloyd to a receiving corps that already included Santana Moss and David Patten, Washington's offense has a Greatest Show on Turf feel for new coordinator Al Saunders.
Has this been made official?

Re: Skins Signed Randle El
john clayton just said on espn news that Lloyd and Randle El would be in the $30 mill range over 6 years, each. Thats $90 mill to our recieving core if its true, WOW!!!

And thanks to ESPN, I now have a new signature. |

Re: Skins Signed Randle El
I just left a signing with Doug Williams, John Riggins and Mark Rypien. For me to hear this is just what we needed because Dallas is close to signing T.O. and that puts us in the position to scoring 5 TD per game. I bet our offense won't be lowest scoring team this year.
|
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
The signing bonus is important but I didn't hear what it was gonna be for either of them. Also how long does the signing get to be prorated out with the new CBA?
|

My initial feeling is that they have overpaid for both. How do you pay them more than Moss? |
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
They probably did overpay but it helps sure up a big hole and it gives mr. saunders more toys. Also Moss got his deal done before he had ever put the type of numbers he put up in 2005. I wouldn't be suprised to see Moss renegotiate in the couple of years.

Ideally you don't have to restructure. This would bug me if I was Moss. |

It would bug me too if I was Moss but maybe he and the rest of the team that was together for last years playoff run know that this is needed to win a championship. The guys seemed to be very open to restructure their contracts to keep the team intact so maybe Moss will be ok with it for now. Isn't he represented by the evil drew rosenhaus, if so.....UH OH!!! |
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
if the skins signed randle el 6 years for 31 mil, as they say, then i think we definitely overpaid. He's just a slot receiver. True, he does return punts and he can occasionally throw the ball, but that's still too much. i wouldn't be suprised if moss becomes unhappy with his contract now.
|
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
Quite an array of weapons, Patten played like a fourth wideout last year and Jacobs had enough chances. I haven't read a full thread in a while, but ahem, cough, dare the youngster get a chance?
|
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
For what its worth...
The DJ at Lulus annouced the Randle-El signing around midnight (at least I think it was around midnight). |
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
Why would Santana become unhappy. Thats rediculous. He's not that kind of guy anyway. But still, santana went from a dissapointment in NY to a beloved, HIGHLY PAID, player in DC. Many people said we overpaid for him last year, and he didn't hesitate to sign that contract. so in essense, i dont see santana getting upset.
|
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
I am so much more psyched about this than the Lloyd signing. I don't know which is going to be our #2? Will there be enough balls to go around? I hope Campbell is hitting the books hard... We're going to need him this year, no way is Brunell going to get it done all year, IMHO.
Me too...Lloyd has me WAY more excited! I think hes gonna be a SICK #2, with Randle-El catching passes in the slot, reverses, WR screens/passes and returning punts. Wow. |

Rediculous? You don't think he will want more money as an established wide receiver? You can combine Lloyd and Randle-Els stats and they are well short of Moss. This will be an issue down the road. |
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
thats 1 season. we are not talking about a guy that has had an incredibly productive carreer and as a result has a big ego (In Santana). Plus, we need to take the double teams off him...i think he'll take not having the double teams over "i want the biggest contract so i can get 2 catches a game cause they are double teaming me"
|

I totally agree. I can't see how Moss wouldn't feel upset about their signings and their respective contract numbers. |
Re: Skins Signed Randle El
also, for what it is worth, the eagle fans are saying because the 10 mil is not up front it is a pretty good deal for both sides...

Do you know him personally? If you set a team's receiving record you should be the highest paid guy and in today's nfl, agents use circumstances like this to help themselves and their client. |
