Oh this was kind of like my idea but I said daily guess weekly makes more sense.

Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
For those of you who watched that "state of the franchise" video above, I thought it was interesting how high Mike Mayock was on drafting a QB fourth overall, and the general consensus by both him and Faulk that the skins need to address the offense with their draft picks rather than the defense.

god forbid photos surface of my younger days[/quote] You and Jimmy's way of letting loose are a lot different than mine. Now if there were scantily clad women and a bottle of yack in the pic, this would be a different matter. If Clausen smokes pickels it's no big deal. I didn't like him from jump street. The only thing that makes him a high pick is because he has played a pro type offense. I wouldn't care if Shanny got him. It's Shanny making the pick. Come to think of it. Clausen might be our guy. He's used to a lot of dudes on top of him. He'll fit in perfectly as our QB. |

wow, slow down. the picture is obviously a joke. lets not stoop to that kind of commentary here at the warpath. take that completely uninformed, unhelpful slander to ES. |

You've got it mixed up bro. ES is for those that tow the party line. Uninformed? I don't like Clausen and I never have. When I'm too unpolitically incorrect the mods will let me know. Until then, screw Clausen in his ear. |

i agree with your view on clausen, that he isnt right for the redskins. all i wanted to say was lets talk about his skills on the field, not silly pictures that crop up on the internet. thats all. |

Certainly no USC fans, pissed that CA boy Clausen signed with ND, would've photoshopped this.....:frusty:

People actually buy into those photos? Man, my life as a PR major will be very easy then.

Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
A lot of of the hate for this guy IMO is jealous, I would not mind being in his shoes and I am sure most American guys/boys dream of his type of life.
Being a starting QB in at a major college or in the NFL is as close as a person can get to being a superhero in today's society. |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Anyone else noticing that many free agents are making visits looking for deals but leaving town without deals. Everyone's playing the waiting game, it seems, and waiting for the "next shoe" to drop.
Draft day is going to be very interesting. |

So what do questionable pictures of Clausen have to do with NFL free agency? This starting to sound like the Drunk Thread.

Also I've noticed a few people staying with their teams after testing the market (i.e. Ryan Clark). Speaking of safeties, I get the sense that this position may not be a priority to the team. Anyone with any insight on this? Just curious. I wouldn't mind seeing Sharper here, if memory serves me right we have a group of young safeties (well Doughty has been in the league for 5 years, so he's not that young), and he would bring some leadership to the group. |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
I didn't think so three weeks ago, but I wouldn't be totally surprised to see the Redskins trade Campbell, draft Clausen (not Bradford), and end up with a veteran QB starting the season.

I can understand that. Besides, Slowik should help him out plenty. Coaches aren't in "panic and must replace" mode that we "helpless" consumers throw ourselves into sometimes. |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Do these rumors have to be grounded in reality? I mean, I heard the other day that the Skins will try to acquire 5 first round draft picks by trading future draft picks.

Thats a good one. The skins do not even have 5 players on their roster worth a 1st round pick! Orakpo is the only player they have that could without question bring back a 1st round pick. Haynesworth is a good enough player but the contract would scare most teams away. |

I think the window on trading Campbell is starting to close...unless something happens on draft weekend. |

Yes. I think people should just get used to the idea that JC WILL be our starting QB this year, and maybe we will have a nice young talent behind him, maybe a project QB behind him, but the fact remains, and most likely will remain, JC is our guy for the next season. Ugh.:vomit: |

Starting to close? I thought that with the tender they gave him, they shut the god damn window before it was even thinking about being opened. |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Smootsmack, What about the window for trading Landry?
|
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
I don't think they intend on trading him unless they get a fantastic offer, same with Rogers
|
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
I'm not sure what the window is, but as long as Delhomme, Derek Anderson, and here's a long shot, Kolb (Eagles) is out there, I think Campbell is in play.

We signed Larry Johnson. I'm not going to open a new thread just yet, because I can't beat the four other people who are about to start Larry Johnson threads.

?? To me, the tender made it clear that he could be had, just not at a firesale price. So we put a first round tender on him, doesn't mean we couldn't trade him for less. It just meant we thought he was a solid starter and we would need an offer that reflected that. |
Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
Chiefs sign Wiegmann. Again.

Re: 2010 NFL Free Agency Rumors and Reports (Week 2)
I personally think we have the players on hand to play the 3-4. Carter can play end and OLB as a rusher is certain situations. But honestly he kind of reminds me athletically as a Jason taylor, little bigger, but just as quick and strong. I think Blades can play the inside, i mean he was named the best LB in college just a few years ago, so the guy can play. I wish we would just start letting our young talent take the field. Chris Wilson is another guy, that I think can play OLB in a 3-4 system. He is quick, can cover and is a high motor guy.
If there is one thing about this organization that really kills me is the development of younger guys. They have them sitting on the sideline behind older guys when they should be playing. Especially Kelly and Tomas. Devin came on at the end of year, but Malcom never saw the damn field. Its a shame. Now with Randel smell gone, Malcom should become what eveyone thinks he should. Shannys kid thinks he has all the tools to be an Andre Johnson type reciever, which if true is scary if Tomas gets better mixing with cooley and Davis. The potential of this offense now with the addition of Larry Johnson and Portis splitting time, upgrades in the Oline really has me excited. |
