Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
You all know, no matter what happens, short of injury, that RG3 will still start Opening Day 2015, right?
I mean at this point the Skins are married to the guy. I keep seeing posts about bringing in a free agent veteran. Who do you have in mind that will be available? Michael Vick? Mark Sanchez? Christian Ponder? Jake Locker? Want to trade to get Culter? Because I think the Bears might entertain offers. Any of those excite you? Because that is what is available. Want to trade a bunch of picks away and go for Jameis Winston? (BTW, I say this in jest, I doubt this would ever happen, but if it did, I am done with the Skins. That would be a bridge too far.) I doubt Snyder will let RG3 ride the pine and put Colt out there. I doubt Colt would even give them a good chance of winning many games next year. So we will watch sub par QB play the rest of this season and go 0-6 or maybe 1-5 because Dallas sucks in December. Then in the offseason, the coaches and media people will say, "Oh RG3 has got it now, boy. You will really see something from him this year." Then the on the 1st snap of the 1st drive of next season RG3 will take a sack or throw a pick. And we will have been duped again. |
Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
RG3 has 6 more games to reclaim his starting job. If he doesnt secure it, open QB situation come TC.

Im not so sure they extend him at this point, and if they dont there might be some hurt feelings resulting in someone else playing qb next year. |

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
Maybe we could package RGIII and our #1 pick and thus move up high enough to draft a new franchise QB.
If Robert keeps playing as he has been, we shouldn't have far up to move. Alternatively, we could re-install his college offense and win a few games until he gets the crap beaten out of him for good. |

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
This is a systematic failure, sure he doesn't know the plays. Alot of morons cooperated on this one though. You have a QB that maybe had his ego get out of control. You have an owner with a Napoleon complex. We had a 60 year old HC who played games through the media. We can't seem to develop players at almost any position. Why did they think they could develop the most complicated position in sports.

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
The skins should tank the season and playing RG3 is a sure fire way to guarantee a top 5 pick. Let the mother sucker keep playing!

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
Never been a fan of the Shanahans but I take my hat off to them for designing an offence that made Griffin look good.
He is clearly incapable of running a more conventional offence and I for one would be delighted if he never started or even played in another game for the Redskins. |

If a team does extend a player, the contract does not become guaranteed until the start of that NFL year (which is in march). We can do the 5th year option and still cut him before march 2016 and pay nothing for year 5. The exception being if he suffers a long term injury that would have him out in 2016 then he will get an injury guarantee and that 5th year will be paid. |
You have to be talking about Winston. Anyone else is going to fall to where the Skins will draft. And I have had quite enough of moving up "to draft a new franchise QB" that has never played in a pro style offense. Plus Winston has so much baggage that he needs a Skycap to follow him around. |

This is the cleanest explanation I've read: systematic failure is the only way to explain how the team got to this point. |

Cooley says RGIII "has the yips" because he is afraid of being hit. Could fear be the cause of his losing his poise and not executing the offense?

After 2 major knee surgeries to the same knee, knowing that one more will likely end his career how would most of us feel? I've been saying the same thing, he's playing scared and lacking confidence, not being able to focus. If he wants to make it in this league, he needs to get over it. Easier said than done. |

Cooley's piece was really good. But when I read that part, I wasn't sure he had a good bead on it. Griff definitely is unsure of himself, holding the ball way too long. I'm thinking if he feared the contact though, he'd be letting the ball fly much earlier, not holding it longer....he'd also bail the pocket much faster, not stand there like a statue. IDK for sure...just hope the light goes on for the kid before too long. Hail! |

He certainly isnt the first and certainly wont be the last. Its just amplified with us because we were in search of a franchise qb forever, and he was a high pick that we gave up a kings ransom for. If Brady hadnt worked out for the Pats because he couldnt "get it" nobody would have cared. Same can be said for countless others. Even Heath Shuler wasnt as big of a story because we werent so far removed from success. The Skins drafting RG-3 was the epitome of the "all in for the savior of a down and out franchise". |

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
We know RG3 has a ton of issues, Jay Gruden needs to fix them period.
Fans tend to cherry pick when the problem is the player's fault (RG3) or the coaches (Haslett). To me, both Jay Gruden and RG3 have 6 games to get things right to save their jobs. |

Re: The RG3 Sucks - Knee Jerk Reaction Thread
I highly, highly recommend that everyone on The Warpath read this. It should be required reading before anyone is allowed to comment on RG3.
This shows to me that we do not have a student of the game on our hands. RG3 loves to talk about believing in yourself, and working hard, and the drive to get better, and he loves his inspirational quotes. And by all accounts he is working hard. Everyone at Redskins Park says so. But you don't see the ability to process what he's seeing on the field and read it. He's just not doing it. The Shanahans scaled down their offense to make it work for Robert, simplifying the reads so he could adapt as a rookie. He's had injuries which hurts the mental aspect, but as Cooley aptly points out, he's missing BASIC stuff. Like day one of training camp basics. Given that he's working hard, and given that he's still missing simple reads, I'm left to question whether he is mentally sharp enough to process the reads on the field quickly enough. It's either that or he's really afraid of getting hit, so much so that he's too frazzled to make the right decisions. Either way, he needs to get better quickly or I would never resign him past his rookie contract.
Any chance he got concussed on the pick 6? Looked like he went helmet to helmet trying to tackle the defender at the goal line. |

Looks healthy to me. No limp. No brace. Not seeing the field has nothing to do with any part of your leg at all as a matter of fact. Last year when he was obviously not physically ready - well shit that was an easy pill to swallow compared to this crap. |

Put Cousins in, at least I get to laugh at his horror faces when the defense collides.
