Re: Shannon Sharpe on Rod Gardner.
If you have forgotten, your boy Spurrier sure did pitch him the ball a lot, but what happened? Spurrier, the most easy going coach in the history of the game, benched him. What does that tell you?!
Coles with a toe injury is not better than anyone on the team now. Coles was a good WR before he got hurt, but after his injury, he was no where near what we paid him to be. Gardner would be a very good player if he was consistent, but he's not. He could not be relied upon to produce when he was wearing a Redskins jersey. No ifs ands or buts about it, that's fact.
I think Steve Spurrier benched everyone on the Offense at least once...;) He was always changing QB's or Running backs. Talking about how he like to play the "hot hand." Whatever the hell that means. And if I remember correctly, Gardner got benched for Chris Doering, I could be wrong, but I think that's who stepped in to play for him. |
Re: Shannon Sharpe on Rod Gardner.
This thread is comical. I looked at the original post and almost hurt myself laughing.
Coles better than any receiver on the roster. I guess that was slightly off. Coles is done. Who really thinks that Gardener is worth a damn? The guy pushes off on every ball he catches and is a premier drive killer. Good luck with Aaron Rodgers (if he can make Green Bay's roster). Good riddance... That being said he is better than any of our #2s... |
Re: Shannon Sharpe on Rod Gardner.
Shannon Sharpe is almost as big of a bust as an announcer as Gardner was as a receiver in Carolina. Gibbs knows what he is doing. Remember that when he gets rid of Lavar and signs Keyshawn. You guys will be loving Keyshawn in a year.
:postcop: :postcop: We are still not getting Keyshawn... :spank: :yeahright  :smashfrea :smashfrea  :frusty: |
Re: Shannon Sharpe on Rod Gardner.
Well, I would like to thank the Redskins for giving up Rod Gardner...From what I saw at the Panthers training camp...Rod Gardner looked awesome. I really feel he is gonna help out the Panthers a lot. Now, he won't be as good as Smith but not to many are :). That is if we can stay away from the injury bug that plagued us last year.
BTW wish you guys a great season this year. Can't wait to see the Redskins and Panthers play Saturday night...I know it is preseason but it's still Football. gardner has and will be a 1000 yard receiver. i wish him well, btw i agree with the comments he made. the offence was horrible, the QB's are garbage. patten is a scrub. moss is delicate. coles is better than they are.

Wouldn't you know it? Fooz currenlty is in a bidding war to be the host of NFL Live on ESPN and the main writer for Sports Illustrated, taking over Peter Kings job. Good luck Fooz! |

Coincidence? :D |

Oh yeah. Let's just add him to the list of "one-year and outta here" financial disasters, a la Jeff George, Deion Sanders, Ki-Jana Carter, Jessie Armstead and others. WTF? This team is being built around character guys who WANT to play for each other. Keyshawn didn't get the nickname "ME-SHAWN" for nothing. I hope that his stench stays as far from Redskin Park as possible. Throw me an underachiever who wants desperately to play better any day. |

Re: Shannon Sharpe on Rod Gardner (Preseason 2005)
I agree with you on Kijana Carter doing well in Burgundy and Gold. I thought he would have chosen to stay with the one team that got his career moving in a positive direction. I was a bit surprised when he signed with Green Bay for more money. His career went out the door also.
